The story takes place in a world devastated by a virus that killed all women, leaving men to face the arrival of the Angels, extraterrestrial beings who begin to harvest the remaining humans.

Chapter 1

The world had ended long ago. The Angels had descended from the sky, wreaking havoc on humanity with their divine retribution. A virus had spread that only targeted women, leaving men to watch helplessly as their wives, daughters, and mothers died in agony. The remaining men locked their loved ones deep underground, but even that couldn't save them. Within five years, the last woman had died, leaving the rest of humanity to slowly die with her.

When the Angels arrived, humanity welcomed them with open arms, even begging to be killed. But some still remembered the pain of losing their loved ones and fought back against the Angels. They charged at them by the millions, some to die and some to kill. The Angels seemed to revel in the slaughter, until humanity killed the first one. Nobody knew who the hero was who had killed the first Angel. All they had were stories, some fantastical and others downright fiction. But they all ended the same way: with the death of an Angel. The Angels refused to change their tactics, however, and continued to hold all the major cities, daring anyone to try and take them back.

It wasn't until the fifth dead Angel that the Angels realized their mistake. Human beings shared mana, a power that allowed them to do wondrous or terrible things. Magic was no longer fiction. The elements could be controlled. Lightning struck where they pointed, tornadoes formed where they stood, and the ground swallowed up entire cities as they willed it. With their newfound power, humanity decided to fight back, even if victory had already been stolen from them. They had been turned into animals and backed into a corner, but they weren't going to die without a fight.

But there was one man who had gone even further. He had been called a monster by both Angel and man. Nobody knew which side he fought for, only that he killed both indiscriminately. If Sean were to write his story, he wouldn’t know whether to make this man the villain or the hero. Sean was the last storyteller on Earth. He knew that his time was up and that he had to make his death count. He had contacted two of the remaining humans, and they would die with him. The last one, he was sure, the Reaper would easily find. Sean had already bestowed the title of Reaper upon him, a monster, a villain, their last hero.

Sean put down the pen and picked up the silver revolver. He pressed it to his temple, knowing that the bullet couldn't hurt him unless he wanted it to. But he did want it to. He wanted his death to be an offering, a sacrifice to the Reaper. As the last human alive, the Reaper would be the most powerful being on the planet. Sean couldn't even fathom how powerful he would become when he stretched his mind to the globe and beyond. He wanted the Reaper to show the Angels how fragile they were in the face of a god. Sean pulled the trigger, his death a small blaze of glory in a world that had already ended.

Chapter 2

Yoshi had always been a fighter. It was in his blood, passed down from generation to generation. His great-grandfather was the last warrior of their lineage, a legendary figure who had fought Angels and emerged victorious. Yoshi had always known that he would follow in his footsteps, that he would become a warrior and defend his people against the Angels that sought to destroy them. It hadn't been easy. The first time Yoshi had drawn upon mana, the power that flowed through his veins and gave him strength, he had broken out into hives. His body had been covered in rashes, and he had struggled to breathe as the power coursed through him. But he had persevered, just as his great-grandfather had, and he had learned to control the power that had nearly killed him.

And now, as he held the bloody scrap of paper in his hand, he knew that his destiny was clear. He would avenge his people, and he would kill every last Angel that dared to threaten them. But first, he had to kill the man who had written the letter, the man who had betrayed them all. He found the man on top of the World Trade Center, amidst the wreckage of New York City. The skies were dark and stormy, lightning flashing in the distance. Yoshi drew his sword, knowing that it was merely symbolic. With so much power at his disposal, weapons were almost unnecessary.

The man he faced was a pudgy American named Jon, who spoke in a thick Southern drawl. Jon seemed almost amused by the situation, as if he didn't fully understand the gravity of what was about to happen. But Yoshi knew better. He could sense the power that Jon wielded, and he knew that this would be no easy fight. As they clashed, Yoshi realized that Jon's weapon was not a lasso at all, but a noose. He barely managed to cut it before it tightened around his neck, and he was flung off the World Trade Center, plummeting to the ground below.

But Yoshi was not one to give up easily. He had survived worse than this, and he was determined to emerge victorious. He drew upon his power, and a pillar of fire erupted from the ground, scorching the earth and boiling the ocean around him. As he stood ankle-deep in the water, panting for breath, Jon chuckled from atop the World Trade Center. "The boy actually boiled the ocean," he said, as if he had expected nothing less.

But Yoshi was undeterred. He pointed his sword at Jon, his eyes blazing with fury. "I dare any god to stand between me and my destiny," he declared, his voice ringing out over the sound of the crashing waves.

Chapter 3

The catastrophic event that unfolded in New York City was unlike any other. The city that never sleeps had been engulfed in a massive flood and flames that raged on for days. The skies were split into two halves: one that unleashed torrents of water, while the other radiated waves of scorching heat. The chaos and destruction were so immense that it seemed as if the city was fighting against itself, with the elements of fire and water locked in an intense battle.

As Yoshi and Jon traversed the city, they witnessed the ferocity of this elemental warfare. Fire would erupt wherever Yoshi walked, while water would creep up wherever Jon stood. Explosions of steam would follow every one of their attacks, as the two elements battled it out for control of the city. Amidst this destruction, the last two humans on Earth, Yoshi and Jon, stood atop the World Trade Center, gasping for breath. They were both battered and wounded, their bodies bearing the scars of their fight against the elements. Half of Jon's cowboy hat had been singed, and the other half had been turned to ash. His face was badly burnt, and he was missing an arm. Yoshi, on the other hand, collapsed onto one knee, his breaths gurgled and labored, and he could no longer exhale air, only cough. His lungs were filled with water, and he could not expel it.

As they looked out towards the horizon, a swarm of Angels approached them, casting dark shadows over the city. These Angels looked like locusts, consuming everything in their path, and the two humans knew that they could not stand against their might. But maybe one of them could.
Yoshi proposed a deal to Jon, "Either we both die, or you do."

Jon responded with a gleaming smile, "Convenient how you left out option number three. Why don’t you die?”

Yoshi coughed again, his body struggling to cope with the water in his lungs. "Because it is my destiny, my—"

Jon interrupted him with booming laughter, causing the sky to rumble in thunderous chortles along with him. "We've got with us a hillbilly redneck and some wannabe samurai. God’s heroes of humanity!" he exclaimed, mocking them. "What a joke."

Yoshi gritted his teeth, angry at Jon's disrespect. "I am humanity's Reaper!" he declared, holding his blade firmly.

But Jon wasn't impressed. "You think that letter was meant for you?" he asked.

Yoshi froze, realizing that Jon was right. The letter that had given him the title of "Reaper" was not meant for him but for Jon.

"I already told you, all I wanna do is kill for fun," Jon continued. "You want vengeance, honor, justice. And I hang people. Which one of us do you think has killed more? Which one of us do you accuse to be the monster, Reaper boy?"

The silence that followed was deafening. Both Yoshi and Jon knew the answer to those questions. Jon was the true "Reaper."

With a smirk, Jon swung his noose, and Yoshi prepared for his final attack. The Angels converged upon them, ready to wipe out the last remaining humans on Earth. The world around them had fallen silent, as if waiting for the impending battle to begin.

"Will the human race fight for honor and justice, or because killing is just so damn entertaining?" Jon taunted. "Or will the Angels simply wipe us from the Earth?"

The air around them crackled with tension as the battle was about to begin. Jon screamed, "C’mon, Reaper boy!" and charged forward, ready to meet his fate.

Chapter 4

As the rain continued to pour down, the once-mighty Angel army fell apart, their shields no match for the acidic deluge. The skyscrapers that once stood tall and proud now crumbled, reduced to mere rubble by the unrelenting force of the elements. The World Trade Center, which had been a symbol of American ingenuity and prosperity, was now a battleground for two warriors locked in a battle to the death.

The dance between water and fire continued unabated, their struggle a testament to the raw power of nature. As Yoshi and Jon clashed, their swords ringing out in the howling wind, the Angels circled around them like vultures, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Yoshi and Jon were not to be deterred. Even as they fought for their lives, they remained focused on their ultimate goal: to be the last human standing. With each passing moment, the battle became more frenzied, more chaotic. The Angels, sensing victory, attacked with renewed ferocity, their weapons glinting in the harsh light of the storm.

But Yoshi and Jon were not so easily defeated. With every move, they fought back against the encroaching darkness, their blades whistling through the air like a song of defiance. And then, just when it seemed like all was lost, Yoshi made his move. Charging forward with a lunge that left him vulnerable, he surprised Jon, who was caught off guard by the sudden change in tactics.
For a moment, the two men locked eyes, and both knew that this was it. The final showdown. The last battle between the forces of good and evil.
As Jon threw his noose, ready to deliver the final blow, Yoshi made a daring move. Leaping off the edge of the World Trade Center, he flew past Jon, and over the edge of the building.

In that moment, as the rope tightened around his neck, Yoshi knew that he was gambling everything. But he also knew that he had to do whatever it took to win. Even if it meant sacrificing himself in the process. As the rope jerked taut, Yoshi gritted his teeth, refusing to let go. He bit down hard, feeling the rope dig into his flesh, burning him from the inside out.

And then, just as suddenly as it had started, it was over. Jon fell to his death, impaled by Yoshi's sword, while Yoshi himself plummeted to the ground. But even as he fell, Yoshi knew that he had won. He had beaten Jon, and in doing so, had proven that humanity was capable of rising above its baser instincts. That even in the face of death and destruction, there was still hope for a better future.

As his body hit the ground, Yoshi felt a sense of peace wash over him. He had done what he had set out to do. He had proven that even in the face of overwhelming odds, it was still possible to triumph. And in that moment, he knew that he had become something more than just a mere mortal.
He had become a god. A symbol of hope and perseverance, of the human spirit at its best. And as he looked up at the stormy sky, he knew that even in death, his legacy would live on.

Chapter 5

In the aftermath of the Angel's attack, the last human on Earth had to come to terms with the fact that he was the only one left. The desolation and loneliness were overwhelming, but he couldn't help feeling a sense of awe at the power that now flowed through him. His senses had expanded beyond what he ever thought was possible, and he could feel the heartbeat of the planet itself. As he watched the Angels flee in fear of his newfound power, he realized that he could control the very elements themselves. With a mere thought, he could summon lightning, fire, and earth to do his bidding. The Angels tried to attack him, but their shields were no match for his power. He laughed as he watched their futile attempts, knowing that he was invincible.

As he surveyed the ruins of New York City from within his protective bubble, he knew that he was the last hope for humanity. He had to use his power to wipe out the Angels and protect the planet. And so he did, with ease. The Angels' ships were destroyed and their bodies burned to ash, leaving behind only the remnants of their technology. As he looked up at the sky, he realized that the secrets of the universe had been unlocked to him. He had discovered humanity's secret weapon: mana. It was the key to defeating the Angels and protecting the planet. He knew that as long as humanity had mana, they could never be defeated.

He laughed as he thought about the irony of it all. Humanity had been fighting off alien invaders for centuries, but in the end, they had the ultimate weapon all along. Mana was the key to their survival. He made a decision. He chose life over death. He used his power to create a being in his own image, a being that would inherit his power and curiosity. He gave this being a garden and a companion, and watched as it prospered and grew. But as the being grew in power, the man's own power dwindled. He knew that eventually, he would be no match for the being he had created. And so he accepted his fate, knowing that his legacy would live on through the being he had created.

As he lay dying, he smiled, knowing that his sacrifice would ensure the survival of humanity for thousands of years to come. And as he closed his eyes for the final time, he whispered a prayer for the future, a prayer that humanity would one day learn to use their power for good, and never again fall victim to their own folly.
