Garden of Love
Mary was unhappy with her garden and her love life. That is, until she met Johnathan. Handsome and the best landscaper in town, what was in store for them?
Mary had always loved gardening. Ever since she was a little girl, she enjoyed planting seeds, watering flowers, and watching them grow. She dreamed of having her own garden someday, where she could spend hours tending to her plants and enjoying nature.
But life had other plans for her. She grew up, got married, had a son, and moved to a small house in the suburbs. Her husband, Mark, was a busy lawyer who rarely had time for her or their son. He was always working, traveling, or meeting with clients. He didn’t share Mary’s passion for gardening, and he thought it was a waste of money and space. He preferred to have a neat and tidy lawn, with no messy plants or weeds.
Mary felt lonely and unhappy in her marriage. She missed having a garden, and she longed for some color and life in her backyard. She tried to convince Mark to let her plant some flowers, but he always refused. He said they didn’t have enough room, or that they would attract pests, or that they would lower the value of their house. He said he would rather hire a professional landscaper to make their yard look nice and modern.
Mary reluctantly agreed, hoping that maybe a landscaper could help her create a garden that Mark would approve of. She searched online for a local landscaping company, and found one that had good reviews and reasonable prices. She called them and made an appointment for a consultation.
The next day, a man named Jonathan came to her door. He was the owner and the main landscaper of the company. He was tall and handsome, with brown hair and green eyes. He wore a blue shirt, khaki pants, and a tool belt. He smiled warmly and introduced himself to Mary.
“Hi, I’m Jonathan. I’m here to see your backyard and give you some ideas for landscaping. You must be Mary.”
“Yes, I am. Nice to meet you, Jonathan. Come in, please.”
Mary led him to the backyard, which was small and plain. It had a patch of grass, a wooden fence, and a concrete patio. There was nothing else, no plants, no flowers, no trees.
Jonathan looked around and nodded. “I see. Well, this is a blank canvas. We can do a lot with this space. What are you looking for?”
Mary hesitated. She wanted to say that she wanted a garden, but she was afraid that Jonathan would think she was silly or unrealistic. She didn’t want to offend him or waste his time. She decided to be vague and diplomatic.
“Well, I don’t know. Something nice and cozy, I guess. Something that makes me feel happy and relaxed.”
Jonathan smiled. “I understand. Well, I have some ideas that I think you’ll like. Do you mind if I take some measurements and pictures?”
“Of course not. Go ahead.”
Jonathan took out a tape measure, a camera, and a notebook. He walked around the yard, measuring the dimensions, taking pictures, and jotting down notes. He seemed very professional and efficient. Mary watched him with curiosity and admiration. He looked like he knew what he was doing, and he seemed to enjoy his work.
As he worked, he also talked to Mary. He asked her about her hobbies, her family, her preferences. He told her about his own life, his passion for landscaping, his experiences, his dreams. He was friendly and charming, and he made Mary laugh with his jokes and stories. He also complimented her on her house, her taste, and her appearance. He said she had a beautiful smile, and that her eyes sparkled like sapphires.
Mary felt a warm and pleasant sensation in her chest. She liked talking to Jonathan, and she liked listening to him. He was so different from Mark, who was cold and distant, and who never paid attention to her or her feelings. Jonathan made her feel special and appreciated, and he seemed genuinely interested in her and her opinions. He also shared her love for nature and plants, and he understood her desire for a garden.
He showed her some pictures of his previous projects, and she was amazed by his talent and creativity. He had transformed dull and boring yards into stunning and inviting landscapes, with flowers, trees, shrubs, rocks, water features, and more. He had a knack for creating harmony and beauty, and he knew how to use colors, shapes, and textures to create different moods and effects.
He asked her what kind of style she liked, and she said she liked something romantic and whimsical, something that reminded her of fairy tales and magic. He nodded and said he had the perfect design for her. He sketched a rough plan on his notebook, and showed it to her.
It was a garden of love. He had divided the yard into four sections, each representing a different season and a different stage of love. There was a spring section, with tulips, daffodils, and cherry blossoms, symbolizing the beginning of love and the awakening of feelings. There was a summer section, with roses, sunflowers, and lavender, symbolizing the peak of love and the passion of romance. There was a fall section, with chrysanthemums, dahlias, and maple leaves, symbolizing the maturity of love and the gratitude of companionship. And there was a winter section, with holly, mistletoe, and snowdrops, symbolizing the endurance of love and the warmth of loyalty.
He also added a small pond, a fountain, a bench, a gazebo, and a swing, to create focal points and seating areas. He said he would use solar lights, wind chimes, and bird feeders, to add some sparkle, sound, and life. He said he would use organic and eco-friendly materials and methods, to protect the environment and the health of the plants and the people.
He said it would be a garden that would make her happy and relaxed, a garden that would reflect her personality and her feelings, a garden that would be her own personal paradise.
Mary was speechless. She looked at the sketch, and she felt a surge of emotion. She loved it. It was exactly what she wanted, what she dreamed of. It was beautiful, and it was perfect.
She looked at Jonathan, and she saw that he was looking at her with a gentle and hopeful expression. He smiled and said, “So, what do you think?”
Mary smiled back and said, “I think it’s wonderful. I think you’re wonderful. I think I’m in love with you.”
Jonathan’s eyes widened, and then he laughed. He leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips. He said, “I think I’m in love with you too.”
They hugged and kissed again, and then they walked hand in hand to the gazebo. They sat on the bench, and they talked and cuddled for hours.
They didn’t notice the time, or the weather, or the world. They only noticed each other, and their garden of love.
That is the end of Garden of Love. Thanks for reading.
