Killer Storm
She could only watch; as her lives work was weaponised - becoming the greatest means for mass murder.
She stood watching from behind the glass.
Violent gusts of wind tore through the thin plastic sheets that the locals had desperately fought for , tearing them away from the buildings they were nailed to.. Only a few days earlier they had scrambled around for suitable materials as a means of survival. None were so lucky. They were never going to survive this storm
She could only watch as the buildings were ripped apart, piece by piece.
She could only watch - knowing it was her fault.
Once, not too long ago, it was her who controlled the weather. The Doctor, sitting in her lab devising the best way to maximise natures ability. She was a genius - the genius who capitalised the sun. The rain. The wind. And subsequently, the storms, tornadoes, floods and the droughts.
Now she could only watch as it destroyed the word around her.
It was no mystery where she went wrong...
Unlike what the tabloids were saying- it was not greed it was hope. How better could she save the planet than by building a team with the same dream. They were going to save people. More rain in places where people were dying from the droughts, more sun where there were vulnerable to floods. Rain and sun for the crops- more food for the population. People were going to live full, long lives - never again fearing a devastating storm or hurricane.
She was going to be a God!
But she grew too hopeful.
The team grew too quickly, unsustainably so. She could no longer personally select her colleagues, didn't have the time to check each one. In that way she became vulnerable. And her work was compromised.
It didn't take long for her project to be betrayed.
They became too greedy, they lost sight of the shared dream. What began as a miracle turned into a curse.
Her life's work was sold off to the highest bidder from under her nose.
Her life's work weaponised.
For a genius, she was exceptionally naive.
She could only watch as the very people she was trying to save became the first victims of this newly developed warfare. She had became a murder. A monster.
So here she was, watching as the technology she created was used to mercilessly kill. The storms swept though those towns and cities that refused to cooperate, refused to surrender. The hurricanes massacred every building or person in it's way. The ferocious floods murdered thousands who presented a problem, who refused to stay quiet.
Her storms were stronger than plantains of tanks. There was less firepower, no need for soldiers. There was nothing to loose.
With her dreams of saving the world, she ended up destroying it; she created the perfect form of warfare.
And now she watched, as her name will forever be engraved in history. Not for creating an utopia, but muttered as a curse - for she had created the greatest means for murder.
She would never be a God; she would be the monster.
That is the end of Killer Storm. Thanks for reading.
