My Sweet Boy
✓ what if the silent, sweet boy in your school decided to give you a letter one day confessing his feelings? you accepted you thought he was sweet. but you didn't know that he was a bit 𝘰𝘧𝘧 ⎯
Chapter 1
Humming a sweet tune that has been stuck in your head for a while, you sweep the dirty floors as best you can. Your teacher, graciously, has given you cleaning duties today because you were quite chatty in class. But you started late because you went to hang out near the vending machines with your friends before you had to complete the inevitable.
Glancing at the floors, you nod to yourself, deciding it looks clean enough for you to start wiping down the desks. Grabbing the cleaning spray and the ordinary, gray rag, you begin to wipe down the desks. But you halt hearing some footsteps from outside the classroom.
Who else is here?
Guessing that it is only Mr. Williams, one of the janitors, you decide to get back to the task at hand.
"Finally!" You exclaim in exasperation, you have finally finished. You run to grab your f/c bookbag and go unplug your fully charged phone.
Stepping out of your classroom, you sigh heavily, walking through the vast hallway, trying to put your book bag on properly. But suddenly you are startled by a sudden someone standing in your path.
Falling backward with a shriek, the person's expression quickly turns apologetic as they extend a helping hand.
"Sorry about that," he smiles sheepishly, handing you your phone.
"It's no problem," you reply, finally recognizing who the person is. It's H/n from your homeroom class. You guys have second period, third period, and even lunch together.
He is more on the reserved side, as you've never seen him speak to anyone before. This might be the first time he's ever initiated a conversation with you.
"Hi Y/n, I've been waiting for you," he says with a sudden cheerful tone of voice.
"For what?" You question him.
But the answer you are waiting for is going to have to wait, as he suddenly grasps your wrist, pulling you up the stairwell. "Where are you taking me?" You ask over and over again, but he doesn't answer as he opens up the bulky door and pulls you onto the windy rooftop.
Finally letting you rest, H/n releases his hold from your wrist with a bright blush. Huffing, you stand tall to see his e/c eyes stuck to you as he smiles sweetly at you.

Shutting your front door closed, you inhale the delicious fumes coming from the kitchen.
"Mother, is that you?" You question, practically salivating at the tasty scent.
"Yes, I've prepared dinner, so go put your stuff down and wash up, love!" She hollers from the kitchen. You reply, shouting an okay before jogging up the stairs. Opening your room door, you throw your bookbag to the side as you glance down at your hand.
It holds the letter H/n had begged you to take home. He told you to open it when you got home, and only then.
Deciding you should have a look at what was handed to you, you sit down in your desk chair. Lifting the back flap of the envelope, you take out pristine, crisp white stationery. Flipping it over, you are greeted with neat handwriting.
"I wonder what that boy wrote for me," you mutter to yourself.
Hi Y/n, I've held a crush on you since the first day of school. Your personality is what I liked most about you at first. Do you think we could go out sometime? Please reply to my letter. My number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. I'm looking forward to your text :)
From, H/n
"A confession?" You mutter in confusion, "Why would he like me?"
Reading over the letter again, he seems sincere. The letter seems so sweet, so why not give him a chance? He isn't bad on the eyes and seems to cherish you.
Chuckling to yourself, you unlock your phone to put in his number. You shoot him a quick text before heading to the bathroom before eating.
Chapter 2
It has been a while since Y/n and H/n started talking. At first, she thought they were moving a bit fast, but he had reassured her that it was only natural.
Even today, they continue the routine that they have fallen into.
They meet up in the mornings most of the time, though she is not sure how he managed to figure out her walking route. And if he isn't able to walk with her, he would find her, somehow. Then they would randomly meet up during school hours.
Today, they have planned to meet up during lunch like they usually do.
It appears it is that time now, as Y/n and her friends have just sat down.
"Oh my god, Y/n, you have to tell us what's going on with that boy H/n," Chelsea squeals, setting down her tray.
"What do you mean?" You try to avoid the subject, knowing he might walk in any minute now.
"Don't play coy," Iona chimes in, pushing up her glasses, "You guys literally meet up every day, and it's weird to see you all of a sudden hanging out with the quiet kid."
Figuring it is no use in trying to hide this from them, you begin to spill some details. Including how you first met one-on-one.
"A letter? How cheesy is this guy?" Chelsea rolls her eyes.
"Oh shut up, you're just mad because Charles is too busy with Hwa to give you a call," Layla rolls her eyes. Chelsea's cheeks flame up in embarrassment as she takes a swig of her juice, temporarily leaving herself out of the conversation.
"So, he's been meeting up with you? That's so sweet!" Iona fans herself dramatically while you laughed.
"Yeah, it's been going really good, though, albeit a bit fast," you speak, poking at your food.
"I'll say," Chelsea butts in, "Be careful, that guy seems a bit off."
Before you have a chance to ask what she means by that, a pair of arms snake around your neck for a quick squeeze. "Hi there," H/n speaks through a cheery smile, offering you a better hug. You quickly stand up and wrap your arms around his body, gushing.
Not noticeable to you, his eyes settle on your friend, giving her a harsh glare.
He had tried to be quiet and surprise you, but he had overheard a bit of your conversation.
Why is that meaningless thing planting doubts in your sweet, little head?
His hold on you becomes a little more possessive as his dark thoughts consume him.
"I have to get rid of her."
Chapter 3
Sliding your baby blue sneakers on, you grab the keys and bid your mom goodbye before sliding out of the front door. You quickly hug your jacket around your body more as it becomes quickly apparent how cold it is. You can see your breath lingering in the air as you continue walking.
Both you and your mom are pretty hungry, and she isn't in the best mood to be in the kitchen, so you decide to go buy both of you some snacks.
The walk isn't that far, and you have your phone to distract you, but something is bothering you.
It feels like you are being watched.
You want to tell yourself that you are overreacting, but you can't shake off the feeling. So you decide to up your walk to a quick jog, but you are stopped by someone pulling on your shoulder.
"W-Wait, Y/n!" You stop your resistance as you recognize that sweet voice.
"H/n?! What are you doing here?" You gasp in surprise. You happen to remember his house isn't that close to yours, so what is he doing all the way out here? And it just happens to be at the same time as you?
H/n laughs nervously and scratches his head, trying to hide his blatantly anxious face. "Uh, I was just walking around, didn't know you'd be here," he laughs it off once again.
You try to ask him another question, as this is a bit weird, but he suddenly grasps your hand, pulling you to the entrance of the store. "Let me buy you something!" He offers with a content smile.
"Uh, I was just going to grab something for me and my mom." You try declining, but he urges you, insisting you bring something for her after you guys are done.
In the end, you agree to his offer. You go to get the snacks, while he warms up the food.
You guys settle into a free table and set everything down. Opening the warm flap of your noodle cup, you peel it back, letting the steam rise.
You guys continue to eat in comfortable silence until you notice something on his jacket, a stain.
He notices your continuous stare and tilts his head, "What are you looking at, Y/n?"
You curiously point to the odd spot on his jacket, "That stain." H/n chuckles nervously before quickly going silent.
All of a sudden, he quickly stands up with a wide grin, "I will walk you home!"
You aren't sure what is going on, so you quickly agree, "Okay."
You both quickly exit and make small talk as you near your house. You imagine how far back his walk is going to be, so you quickly halt, "You can stop here, but thank you for tonight, I had fun."
"Are you sure?" He asks with an odd look on his face.
"Yep, bye!" You nod enthusiastically, before pecking him on the cheek as a parting gift. He returns the gesture by softly kissing your forehead.
You calmly start your walk back home as the plastic bag swishes around on your arm.
Chapter 4
The sound of jiggling keys fills the air around you as you unlock your front door. You quickly close the door behind you to escape the nippy night air and slide off your sneakers.
You put the keys away before going to your mom's room to divvy up the snacks you had brought.
"Hey, Mom, can I come in?" You beckon, knocking on her apricot door.
The silence is all that answers your question. Curious, you open your mom's door, slowly creeping in.
You walk up to her still figure, shaking her, trying to catch her attention. Alas, she doesn't answer.
"Hey Mom, I got your snacks," you whisper to her, thinking she is just sleeping.
She murmurs back in her sleep, which makes you smile.
"I'll just leave them in the kitchen for you. I love you," you gently hug her before quickly stepping out and shutting the door.
You put your mom's favorite drink in the fridge and the rest of the snacks on the counter before venturing to your room.
You toss the plastic bag on your bed and take off your f/c coat. You sit down on your bed while scrolling through your phone when you get the notification that your favorite show has just aired new episodes.
So you decide to take a shower before getting in bed to eat and watch the show. The warm water would also do you some good.
Quickly throwing together some pajamas, you grab your towel and head to your bathroom to clean yourself off.
♡'༉‧₊˚
You squeal in excitement as you open your laptop to go watch the show. You have set up your snacks and even put your phone on silent so you won't get interrupted.
As you start to watch the new episodes, you snuggle up in your soft blankets with your snacks at a grabbable distance.
Though you are filled with much anticipation, it only takes you three episodes to inevitably fall asleep.
A sudden noise comes from your room, as your window slowly lifts. A hand grasps the window seal for support as it delicately lifts its body through so as not to alert you.
A familiar figure looms over your cozy body.
H/n fawns over your figure, blushing to himself as you pay no attention in your sluggish, dreamy state.
"Y/n, I hope you forgive me, but you must understand! I did it for us!" He declares with various emotions swimming in his voice.
"You feel so warm, your delicate face," he transitions to a softer tone as his hand caresses your cheek.
"So peaceful," he whispers to no one but himself as he traces over your sleeping figure.
"May I steal a kiss?" He whispers to you, knowing you are unable to answer as your mind is elsewhere.
"I-I just can't resist," he sweetly sighs before leaving an intimate touch of his lips on your cheek, dangerously close to your own.
He stays to watch you a bit more before leaving another embrace of lips on your forehead and solemnly whispering goodbye and fleeing the same way he had entered.
Chapter 5
The consistent blaring of your alarm forces your dream to dissipate and your eyes to regrettably flutter open. You let out a big sigh as you see the pitch-black laptop screen next to you, reminding you that you had fallen asleep watching your show.
There is something strange about your bedside table, though; your snacks are all closed and wrapped up. You have no recollection of putting them away, so maybe your mom had done it. As she might have woken up and come in.
You reach for your phone to check your notifications. On your phone is a sweet message from H/n wishing you a good morning.
You smile and send a reply before getting up to get yourself ready for school. You quickly put your hair in one of your favorite hairstyles before getting your uniform on. You quickly grab your phone, charger, and bag before heading downstairs.
"Hey, sweetie!" Your mom cheerfully greets you as you walk down your carpeted stairs.
"Hey Mom, did you go into my room last night? Also, are you making breakfast?" You ask, reaching for the handle of your fridge.
"No, I was knocked out after you left. And yeah, I was thinking waffles. Are you in the mood?" She asks, messing with your hair a bit as you reach for a cup.
"Yes, of course, I love your cooking," you gratefully accept the chance of her cooking.
"Alright, it'll be ready in a bit!" She peppily kisses your cheek as she goes to start preparing breakfast. You smile as you watch her go through the pantry.
She always loved baking; it is one of the only things that has helped to console her after her younger brother died. She has become a bit obsessed with it since then, so it's a daily thing she enjoys, and that makes you happy.
As she cooks, you decide to pass the time by sipping on your f/j while scrolling on your phone and texting H/n and your group chat.
"Alright, here you go!" She passes you the plate of two stacked light-brown, crisp waffles. The sweet fumes waft toward your nose as you grab the syrup, and your mom grabs utensils.
"Hey sweetie, do you mind turning up the TV for me? I can barely hear anything," your mom quickly asks of you before you guys sit down to eat.
"Yeah, no problem!" You turn to go toward the living room.
"By the way, the remote should be on the arm of the couch," she gives you a heads up.
"Got it!" You yell.
You grasp the remote to turn up the sound, only to drop it with a shaky hand.
Your mouth gapes open as your eyes round in horror; you are unable to believe what you are seeing.
Next to the news anchor is a picture of your friend widely smiling as they announce her missing.
Chapter 6
The wooden case surrounding your friend's chosen photo, the clear light shining overhead on the glass, and your doleful expression reflecting off the glass. The drenched tissues collect your grieving tears.
It has been weeks, but you still can't accept it. She is gone, and it doesn't feel right, as if she was snatched from you.
You feel a gentle rubbing on your shoulder that leads you to look up at your friend's mom. "How are you holding up, honey?" She is concerned for you, but she doesn't look that well herself.
Her watery eyes, crimson face, and puffed cheeks are tired from all the weeping and stressing.
In a sense, it is as if you are looking at your reflection in a mirror.
"I'm," your eyes start to water, "I'm trying."
She meekly smiles at you, grasping at your hand to rub it in a consoling manner, "I know, I know."
"It's just that she never bothered anyone, she looked out for her friends, and I, I just don't understand," you choke on your tears. "How could someone want to hurt her? Who would want to?"
"Y/n," a voice beckons you.
It is H/n swishing the keys around his finger.
You sigh as the woman releases your hands and bids you goodbye, as H/n takes your free hand to lead you to the front.
"You ready to leave? We can stop by your favorite restaurant or try to convince your mom to cook. I'm pretty sure she'd love to." He suggests lowly as you both weave through the crowd.
He had made you promise earlier that you would eat something, as it had been a while since you had consumed any food.
You aimlessly stare at him, shrugging your shoulders, "The restaurant is fine."
"Alright, give me a minute to grab our coats and use the bathroom before we head out. I'll be right back," he states before giving you a comfortable smooch on your forehead and fleeing upstairs.
You smile weakly as you watch him fade away from your sight. You begin to rub your arms as you stand off to the side, observing the grieving party.
"Excuse me?" Someone calls out, startling you.
The guy has what resembles a mullet with curtain bangs, but it is shaped fancily for the occasion. He has a big build, which is demonstrated as the suit tightens around his muscles. His face remains sharp, but his expression appears mournful.
Weirdly, he reminds you of H/n, but just a bit.
"I came to offer my condolences. I heard you were the one to hold the funeral. It's beautiful," he speaks calmly, offering his hand out to take.
"Thank you, did you know her well?" You reach for his hand.
"Yes, for about two years, we met before she moved to this area. What about you?" He replies, rubbing your hand.
"We met in middle school, been friends ever since," you comment with a low smile.
"It seems she made a great friend, listen, I'd love to..." he trails off, seeing H/n arrive.
H/n eyes begin to darken at the sight of his hands clinging to you. What is that guy doing to you?
H/n puts on a polite smile, grasping the guy's wrist harshly, "Can we help you?"
The guy replies while locking eyes with H/n, "We were just chatting." He grabs H/n's wrist to release his hold before eyeing him up and down.
"Well then, we'll be leaving," H/n grasps your hand roughly before opening the door.
"Ah, Miss?" The guy calls out to you, "I'll be staying in town for a while. Would we be able to meet up?"
"Sure, we can arrange something," you respond softly. H/n tightening grip on your wrist doesn't go unnoticed.
"Alright then, have a good afternoon," he bids you farewell with a wave of his palm. He observes H/n's demeanor as his hand remains wrapped around your wrist.
You politely bow, before almost tripping out of the door as H/n fastly leads the way back to the car.
The guy sighs with a low chuckle, rubbing his wrist with a cloudy, knowing glint in his eyes.
"My, my, how intriguing."
Chapter 7
The sun's rays reach the lime-green grass as the leaves crunch under his licorice sneakers. He unconsciously grips the bouquet as he nears the grave of his beloved friend.
Chelsea and he had met three years back through a job of his, and since then, they had been close as childhood friends. Her heart is always in the right place, and you are able to look past her occasional brashness and still care for her. So why?
It had taken him a while after the funeral to bring himself here, just throwing the fact that one of the few friends he had is now gone.
He can feel the unwanted tears slip down his face as he sets down the sentimental bouquet.
He gently settles himself on the patch of grass next to the grave.
"I wish I hadn't pushed you away as much as I did; maybe we would've had more time together. I know she would've wanted it for me." His regrets are pushed to the forefront.
He should have visited more after she moved. So much he wishes he could change, but nevertheless, he remains remorseful.
"I finally met your friend that you talked so much about. What was her name again? Ah, yes, Y/n. Very sweet, even to a stranger. I can see why you were friends," he quirks up a smile, thinking about the countless times she had mentioned the girl's name.
But thinking of Y/n comes the thought of that boy.
"I met the boy too, they were glued to each other as you said, or rather, he was stuck to her. Wherever she was, he knew or was by her side," he remembers how he had watched the boy's strange behavior.
Maybe he is more abnormally clingy than the average person, which isn't something for him to judge.
"But the grip I felt," he trails off as he feels up his wrist, "The possessiveness that rushed through his veins. It surprised me how similar it felt to watch him do what... never mind, I shouldn't be thinking of that."
He sighs, getting to the point, trailing his fingers on his beloved friend's name, "I came to tell you that I don't buy it. I don't buy the story of your disappearance. So I made the decision along with her, though she didn't like it, to stay in town a little while longer."
"And I wanted to tell you now, so get mad with me all you'd like. I will be using your friend Y/n for my own means. I need to get close to her to find out what really happened. That guy, H/n, something isn't right about him, I should know."
He stands up, dusting off his navy blue slacks as he reaches through his pockets to pull out his cell. He quickly clicks the contact before guiding the phone to his ear.
"Hello?" The voice speaks from the other line.
"Hello, is this Y/n's cell?"
"Uh, yes, who is this?"
"Ah, yes, this is Ian from the funeral. I was out running some errands, and I was wondering if you'd be open to meeting up. Perhaps a cafe?" Florian gently speaks, trying to coax her into a meeting.
"I would love to, but I'm busy today. Does tomorrow work?"
Florian sighs but keeps his tone gentle, "That works, we can set up more details tomorrow."
He clicks for the call to end as he heads back to his vehicle. No matter how it needs to be done, Florian swears he will find out how and why his friend's demise was met.
If it means returning to something he knows better than to embrace, then so be it.
Chapter 8
Carefully clicking the hair clips into place, you smile satisfactorily at your reflection. Humming along to the tunes drifting through the air as H/n stares at your vibing movements.
You twirl, landing in front of your boyfriend, who settles his hands on your clothed waist as the song ends. He had come to visit you but was unaware that his visit would be cut short due to your pre-made plans.
"So what do ya think?" You question him on the final outcome of the vision for your outfit.
"I think you look very pretty," his lips tickle your neck as he beams a smile at you, "But you never mentioned where you were going with such a pretty outfit." Your eyes shut as you laugh loudly at the feeling on your neck before you untangle yourself from the boy.
"Do you remember that guy from the funeral?" You ask H/n while turning to reach for a pair of glistening, teardrop earrings to add something to your outfit.
His eye twitches at the sudden mention of the guy, "Uh-huh, what about him?"
"Well, he had called me the other day, but I was already out at the bakery with Iona, so I told him we could hang out today. We chose that new cafe, Leon's Tearoom. I heard that it was really cute."
You expected a response, so you turn around to face the source of the silence. Your face scrunches up as you take notice of his narrowing eyes, "What's wrong? You look upset."
"You're the reason I'm upset," he hisses at you.
"What? What did I do?" You scoff as he gets close to you.
"You purposely hid this from me, didn't you?" He spits out his accusations.
"What..." You trail off as he cuts you off.
"Don't go." He declares as his face hardens.
"Why wouldn't I? It's Chelsea's friend, he seems nice, and he might have some stories about her that I want to hear. Unless you give me an actual reason," you challenge him, crossing your arms to make a point.
The silence buzzes about as H/n clenches his jaw and watches you grab your purse before you turn to open your door, "Don't wait up."
He lunges at you, grabbing your wrist and forcing you to swivel around and face him, "I said don't go."
Your eyes go wide at the tightness presented around your wrist, "Let me go!"
"I said, don't go!" He shouts in your face, yanking you along with his fussy, jerky movements.
"H/n! You're hurting me!" You shout, struggling in his grasp. But your words don't reach him, for the anger covering his ears blocks out all reason. You cuff his wrist, resting your nails on it as you finally free yourself from his roughness.
Fear overtakes your face as a tear slips downward; you don't recognize him.
You slam the door, leaving him by himself with his seething anger as his only company.
Chapter 9
A chime rings through the air, prompting an employee to beam a welcoming smile in your direction. Your eyes roam around the pastel colors that complement each other well. The white lace decorates the tables with jam and sugar cubes.
You sigh, happily approaching the woman who has her hazel hair in a bun with her arms resting on the counter.
"Welcome to Leon's Tearoom! Are you dining by yourself, or is someone joining you?" The woman greets you.
"Um, yes, someone else is joining me," you answer.
"Is there a specific place you would like to sit?"
"Yes, by the window, please," you request.
"Follow me, miss," the woman guides you over to a booth placed with a clear view of the outside.
"A server will arrive shortly," she places down the menu before bowing and taking her leave.
You take the menu into your hands to open up the list of delicious options. They serve everything from crumpets to sandwiches to omelets and desserts.
And well, of course, tea.
You decide on what you want, and now it's time for you to stare at your phone.
You have been hoping for a text from H/n, but the longer you expect an apology, the more anxious and disappointed you begin to feel. You sigh, flipping over the device to stare at the outside world.
But your sightseeing is cut short as the door rings, signaling someone has entered the shop.
Florian waves at the fleeting car before turning around to greet the same woman who had seated you before as she pointed in your direction.
You wave as his eyes settle on you. He graces you with a smile as he walks over with his trench coat flowing behind him with each step.
"Sorry to have kept you waiting, we left the house later than we wanted," Florian apologizes for his late arrival, letting the tan coat descend off his broad shoulders.
"It's no problem! I haven't been here that long. How has your day been, though?" You try continuing the small talk.
"It has been alright, and yours?"
"To be honest, it could be better, but this place is so pretty, I can't get over how cute it is," you gush over your surroundings.
"I agree, I'm glad we came here," he nods in agreement.
Someone clears their throat, letting you both notice their arrival, "Hello, my name is Aminah, and I will be serving you today. Are you ready to order drinks?"
"Um, I'll take f/d for my drink, please," you respond before handing Florian the menu.
He thanks you before skimming his options, "I'll take an Earl Grey, please."
"No problem, I'll be right back with your drinks," the woman bows before disappearing into the kitchen.
The air between you both remains awkward before Florian clears his throat, "Well, tell me about yourself."
"Well, I'm in high school and I live with my mom. Oh, she enjoys baking and cooking a lot, so we barely have to go out to eat. Plus, it's delicious so," you chuckle, playing with your utensils anxiously.
"Well, I hope one day I can taste it since you speak so highly of it," he suggests jokingly.
"Oh, of course, my mom would be happy with the company, it's been a while since she's cooked for someone besides just us," you think about your father and the many moments when he was trying to be your mother's horrible assistant chef in the kitchen.
"Oh... does that mean your father isn't in the picture? If you don't mind me asking," he tries not to push your boundaries.
"It's fine... um, he passed a couple of years ago, around when I was seven," you poorly chuckle, trying not to ruin the calm atmosphere.
"Oh, I apologize," he says, reaching for your hand, squeezing it, hoping it will comfort your sunken mood.
"No, it's fine," you laugh before sniffling, "Tell me more about you now."
But before he has a chance to answer, the server returns with a tray, "Here are your drinks, one f/d, and one Earl Grey." She sets down the hot teacup in front of Florian and your cup in front of you.
"Are you guys ready to order?" She flips her scarf over her shoulder before pulling out her notepad. You both relay your orders before the server retreats once again.
As Florian dips the sugar cubes in his tea one by one, watching as they dissolve, you carefully sip your drink. "This is so good, oh my god," you mutter as you watch Florian taste his tea.
"I agree, this is quite tasty," he once again agrees with you, letting the drink slip down his throat, "Ah, where was I?"
"You were going to tell me more about yourself," you remind him.
"Right. Well, I work two jobs, one as a craftsman for my lover's uncle," he goes on sipping his tea, "The other is where I met... Chelsea."
"Do you mind telling me more about her?" You ask hopefully.
"I shall, the next time we meet. Invite me over for dinner."
You furrow your eyebrows at how forward he is being, "I should ask my mom, I'm sure she shouldn't have a problem."
"Great," he responds with a smile before glancing at the incoming server. They set the fresh, hot plates down and were about to excuse themself before Florian stopped her.
"Hey Aminah, was it?"
"Yes, how may I help you?"
"Can I get a box of ten macaroons to go, please? As an assortment, pick whatever you'd recommend."
"Yes, sir," she takes down his order.
As you gush over the fancy-plated food, something gains Florian's attention beyond the window.
As his lips stretch into a smirk, Florian waves to let whoever or whatever know... that the constant stares haven't gone unnoticed.
Chapter 10
His feet quickly carry him back and forth through the room as he nibbles on his uneven nails. Did he actually notice him?
It has been a while since H/n had arrived at his home after rushing back from his stalking adventure.
Something else to pile onto his mood after he had probably fucked up during that argument on the topic of that man. H/n regrets the escalation; this isn't the first time he has made a mistake like that.
There are a few that had experienced the strange love belonging to H/n, but the first to experience it comes to mind at the moment.
Verena is the girl's name.
Her lengthy, bouncy curls were the color of the midnight skies while her skin remained as pale as the moon. Her beauty captivated H/n's picky attention, something that fixated his gaze upon her. It didn't matter the reason; now that he was set on having her.
She wasn't surrounded by as many friends as Y/n, so she was more accessible for attention. He would trail behind her, watching as the tunes filled her ears and the air caressed her hair.
He'd often daydream of grasping her hand as she flashed one of those rare smiles in his face.
It was a need that felt insatiable. Soon, he'd set out to hunt for her love.
With little to no resistance, she fell for his shy boy charm. Those fantasies belonging to his busy mind are now being fulfilled day by day.
He loved this, maybe a little more than he should've. He felt the attachment to her grow with each hug and kiss, but he couldn't help himself. They belonged together, or so he thought.
Then a little someone strolled into the picture.
And that was the first time he lost his temper.
It was a study night, at a tiny cafe, hunched over notebooks and textbooks for the important test that upcoming week. But something was distracting him from the memorization of notes and the sipping of his tea.
That bastard.
His hands unnecessarily trailed over the purple sweater he had purchased for her. What did he think he was doing? Touching what belonged to him, he couldn't have it.
He told Verena his concerns about that friend holding romantic feelings for her, and she laughed it off. Which only drove H/n crazier, which led to his delusions.
What if she was in on it?
Cheating behind his back?
Before he knew, they were walking home in the empty streets. She noticed how quiet H/n was being and led them to an alleyway. And then it began.
He told her to leave it alone, but she pushed for an answer, and arguing ensued.
Before he knew it, a thud could be heard throughout the alley.
He grabbed her head firmly and threw it against the wall with tremendous force. Her body crumpled to the floor, lifeless. He had killed her with the sheer force of his bare hands.
His eyes, full of wrath, quickly washed away with sorrow and remorse.
He cradled her head, glancing at the bloodied bricks. What had he done? If only she hadn't provoked him, he wouldn't have had to do that.
He glances at his hands, practically reliving the night when his hands were impulsively stained with her blood. His hands harshly grasp his head; that memory isn't one of his favorites. But it reminds him of the precious love he holds for Y/n now; he shouldn't lose that.
He can't, he has to fix this.
Chapter 11
Here you are, with your feet dangling in the air as you are busy wasting the day away. It has been a couple of days since the eventful day you spent with Ian. Dubbed eventful, because, with your joyous afternoon, there is the contrast of the obvious downer of an argument you had with H/n.
Speaking of your boyfriend, he wishes to come over and chat with you. In hopes of resolving the quiet treatment that he so rightly deserves.
After the heated moment of him thrashing you around, you aren't too sure. But with the advice of your dear friends and the fact that you still hold strong feelings for the guy. So you agree, and today is the day you will talk it out.
Speak of the devil.
You perk up at the sudden ring of your doorbell.
You are aware of the fact that your mother is occupied downstairs with the makings of her cake. So, you know that you can mentally prepare yourself for the inevitable conversation while your mother opens the door.
But it seems that with each step you can hear approaching, it only makes you grow more anxious.
What if he gets out of hand like the last time you saw him?
The thoughts keep piling, alas, there the expected knock is.
You take a slow, deep breath in before calmly exhaling before you give him the okay to enter your space.
He steps in fastly before closing the door shut and approaches you slowly. "Hey," H/n shyly begins the conversation.
"Hi." You mutter pointedly, glancing at him up and down at the comfortable outfit he had thrown on. You want to make sure he earns your forgiveness and that he is genuinely sorry.
"L-Look," he sighs, "I want to apologize. I should've never let it get that far."
You scoff at the plain apology, "Okay, but what made you think that putting your hands that roughly on me was okay? I don't care how you're feeling."
"I just felt jealous of that guy; you became friends with him so quickly. I was afraid that you liked him or that he liked you."
"Regardless of your thoughts, that gives you no right," you roughly speak toward the cowardly-looking male.
H/n fumbles with his hands, and he lets his head droop as his sniffles escape him. "Look, Y/n, I don't know what's wrong with me, you're right that should've never happened. I was dumb enough to let my anger get the best of me. If anything is ever bothering me, I will tell, and I hope you can look past this and trust me again. I hope you forgive me."
There it is.
The genuine apology you are looking for.
A small smile fixes your frigid features as you take his hand in yours. You rub his knuckles, and he lifts his head to connect his watering eyes with your still pair.
"You promise to tell me anything, right?" You hopefully search for confirmation.
"Of course, you don't think I would lie to you... Do you?" This time, he flips the situation onto you.
"No, I don't think you will," you nod your head as the anger you feel toward your lover dissipates.
He lets a wide smile loose as he squeezes your figure happily. "Thank you for letting me apologize. I promise to behave."
You chuckle as you grip him back.
You lay your head in the comfortable-looking crook of his neck, and the warmth you had denied yourself is back. On the other hand, H/n welcomes you happily as you are finally back.
Finally his.
Now to make sure it stays this way, there's something he must do.
But as he promised, he will try to behave.
Chapter 12
"So why did you call me here?" The boy nervously asks the girl looming over him. He is sitting on the bench as her floral dress flows with the wind and momentary silence.
She watches him intently, making him undoubtedly nervous. "I know what you are," she drops the words lightly, spooking the male.
"What do you mean?" He fumbles over his words as he toys with his knuckles.
"I know that you watch me," she smirks as he can no longer sit still.
"I... I don't know what you're talking about," he tries to rush out the lie.
"You didn't quite try your best to be unnoticeable. I notice you when I'm alone or with others," she reaches for his freshly cut hair and twirls it around her manicured, slender finger.
"I always wondered when you would come out of the shadows, but it seemed like I had to take the first step," she pulls her hand back and shoves her locks behind her ear. "So here I am."
The boy trembles as she appears to be toying with him. What was he to do? She already knows of his strange habits.
"I promise I won't do it ever again, just please don't tell anybody," he pleads with her, scrambling to stand steady on his two feet.
She giggles, "I never said anything like that. Hey, if you wanted my attention, all you had to do was ask."
The boy is speechless as a salty tear escapes him, "Do you mean it?"
Her dainty hand caresses his puffy cheek, "Of course, let me teach you how to love and trust me. Come with me, Florian."
"My love," her voice enters the air as she calmly wakes him from his slumber. His eyelids slowly peel back to meet her gaze. He smiles as he pushes himself to the edge of the bed.
He gently kisses her free hand as she stands between his strong thighs.
"How was your rest?" She starts up the conversation.
"Wonderful, I dreamt of you," he whispers slyly, gazing at her.
A happy sigh escapes her, "Enough of that, my love, I have information for you."
"I'm listening."
"It's about the boy; he was at a different school beforehand. And that's where his behaviors started. He ended up with a girl named Verena."
His eyebrow twitches, "Did something happen to her?"
"It seems as if she was last seen with him before she was reported missing. He claims to have walked her home, but of course, there were no witnesses. Later, her blood was found splattered on the building of a nearby pawn shop. And shortly after, her body was found." She relays to him, playing with his hair to keep him calm and focused.
Florian's mind fumbles as he compares himself to the boy.
He has done some questionable things, but never would he imagine taking someone's life. How could this boy go that far? Especially to commit such an act on someone he held love for.
Florian can't help but worry for the girl who resides by his side. What is her fate?
He glances up at the curvy woman before him to clasp her hand in his.
"Are you feeling alright?" She asks as he affectionately holds her close.
"I'm fine, just grateful," Florian gazes at her, full of arousal.
"Darling..." she mutters as he wraps his long arms around her freckled waist.
"Come to bed with me, won't you?" He sweetly whispers, pushing his head against her plushy stomach.
"I can already tell there is no use in stopping you," she rolls her eyes as he begins to lift her.
"Good."
Chapter 13
Fiddling with your jewelry, you hear the doorbell ring as you shout to your mother that you will answer it. You flee down the carpeted steps as you approach the door.
"Good evening." Florian purrs as the door swings open.
You see that he is dressed quite dapper, as always—this time with a long black overcoat and a striped scarf to match.
"Come in, I bet it's cold out there," you beckon the tall man inside.
"How was your drive?" You ask as you gesture to take his coat.
He gratefully bends his head and slips it off his body, "Just fine, wasn't as much traffic as I thought it would be."
"Good," you mutter, hanging the coat up before clasping your hands in front of you, "Let me show you around!"
As you gesture around, leaving the upstairs area uncharted territory, your mother suddenly shouts to wash your hands. "She must be finished," you relay to him, "The bathroom is right over here!"
You each take a turn to wash your hands before heading to the dining room. Florian is suddenly surprised by the boy's sudden reveal.
H/n.
Florian's peaceful state begins to ice over as he plasters on a polite face for the setting.
"H/n, isn't it?" Florian approaches the male.
The turtleneck softly squeezes his neck as he turns to face the tall male. "Yes, it is, I don't believe we have actually sat and talked yet," H/n reaches out to shake his hand, which he accepts.
"Hi ma'am," Florian redirects his attention to the older woman in the room. "Thank you for having me over," he politely tries to shake her hand as well.
"I hug baby, come here," your mom embraces the male with cheeriness, "It's been a while since we had company, so I was surprised when my daughter asked. You all are welcome, so come sit down and eat!"
All of you quickly settle at the table per the lady's request. Passing plates around and setting food on your plates, the small talk begins.
Florian attempts to humor your mother and get to know her mother as he reaches for more of her cooking. But soon his attention is directed to the young man you care so much for.
"So H/n," Florian swallows in order to start a conversation, "You said you moved here recently, right?"
"Yes, you're right," H/n gives a polite smile.
"So what school did you come from?" Florian inquires about his past.
"You probably wouldn't know it," H/n glares boldly at the muscular man.
"Try me," Florian smirks.
"Riverside was the name, if I remember correctly. So have you heard of it?" H/n finally gives him an answer.
"I think I might've actually," Florian tilts his head.
"Oh really?" H/n squints his eyes at the man.
"Ah, humor me for a moment, I think I may remember someone who may have gone there."
"Oh yeah? I might remember the name," H/n sets his fork down.
"Then have you heard of a girl who goes by Verena?"
Chapter 14
"Then have you heard of a girl who goes by Verena?"
Verena.
H/n is stunned as Florian namedrops his dead girlfriend. "How the fuck does he know that name?" That is all your boyfriend can think of as his heartbeat increases.
Anxiety grips his throat as he is unable to provide an answer for the man before him. He hadn't had any time to prepare any lies. No way to slyly deflect this horrific surprise. What is he to do? His eye twitches as his nails concerningly dig into the oak table.
He has already slipped up once; a second time will be far too suspicious. He feels the need to reach across the table and slit Florian's throat with the knife provided to him.
But that moment never comes.
H/n's feet carry him fastly out of the suffocating atmosphere and to the midnight air.
"H/n!" You yell after him, surprised by the sudden departure.
"Oh my," Florian mutters as he feigns ignorance. "I must've said something wrong, please forgive me."
"I'm sure he forgot something. I will text him," you nervously laugh it off as your mother stares at you, her gaze holding nothing but worry and surprise for the young boy.
"Well, I guess it's time to wrap things up anyway. Florian, dear, I enjoyed your company. You are a wonderful young man," your mother comes around to collect dishes.
"Come on, I will walk you out," you nervously smile as you stretch your legs.
"Alright then," Florian follows your lead.
You slip on some easy shoes as your guest gets his belongings and slips his arms through his coat. You swing your front door open, ready to bid the man goodbye, when he suddenly stops walking forward.
"Y/n." He suddenly mutters your name into the night air.
"Oh yes?" You respond stuttering slightly as you are caught off guard.
"As I promised, I have something to tell you. I admit I held it back because I didn't want to put a halt to your grieving process by telling you something. But again, it's not my decision to make for you," he twists his body to face yours.
"What is it?" You ask, beginning to become impatient.
"The last thing our dearly departed friend told me about... you," he speaks slowly.
He sees your eager expression and begins to keep his promise. "It had been a while since Chelsea and I had spoken. We were on the phone, and I could see that she was upset. When I asked her why she was upset, she answered that one of her friends got into an argument with her. She regretted something she had said. She was worried she would lose one of her dearest friends and wanted them to answer her texts. Someone who would ignore her faults and who was so trusting and believed in her. She loved you so much. To be honest, I was jealous," he sneaks a chuckle in. "But I now see what she saw, a beautiful young woman."
For some reason, your body betrays your wishes, and the salty liquid escapes you. You don't even realize how much grief you had been storing within you until now.
"There, there," the taller man pats your head in order to console you.
A few moments pass as he gives you some time to let everything out and regain your composure. "Hey, next time, dinner is on me. And perhaps I will introduce you to a certain someone dear to me."
"I look forward to it," you bid him goodbye as you wipe away the few tears you have left.
Chapter 15
He lets his frustrations out on his handheld device as he ignores the incoming pings from your worrying.
How? Just how does he know that name? H/n had made sure no one knew where he was going. And it just has to be him, Florian.
The boy doesn't even realize he is home until he hears the door slam behind him.
He can't remember the last time he was ever this angry.
Oh, wait... the day Verena died at his hands.
His hands pull at his strands of hair as he lets out frustrated screams. He was never one good at controlling his anger; it always seemed to get the best of him. But this time is different.
The contrast of anger pulsing through his body at the moment, and it's all aimed at one individual... fucking Florian.
He has never felt such rage before, not even when he smashed his ex-girlfriend's head against that brick wall. Florian has wound him up too much, and H/n has chosen to make him pay. His knuckles turn white as he clenches his fists, ready to unleash his wrath.
What's that?
A meow?
Ah yes, Clementine, H/n's cat. Ready for some attention, but at the wrong moment.
H/n's eyes full of irritation dart over to the clueless creature, his trembling hands ready to relieve some tension. He calls the cat over only to grip its neck harshly. The terrified meowing is the last sound poor Clementine makes as his life slips away from him.
H/n sighs as he stretches his bloodstained, slender fingers.
It wouldn't be the first time.
He swings his front door open, ready to rid himself of this useless corpse. He marches to the back under the moonlight to bury the last reminder of the worthless woman who raised him.
His delusional mind wanders off as he imagines it's Florian's body instead of this animal's that would lie in this dirt. His shovel gets to work creating a small hole to discard Clementine in.
As he pats the dirt down, his eyes drift off as he makes a silent promise.
"I will watch as you writhe in pain and feel the torment I have felt. Two can play this game."
Chapter 16
"H/n stop!" Your infectious giggles fill the cool air as you run from your boyfriend's wiggling fingers as he tries to tickle you.
Tonight is your date night, filled with excitement and strengthening your bond as a couple. You both planned to watch a movie and go for ice cream before the inevitable separation.
"You're going to make me drop it!" You squeal as he attempts to lift you to your doorstep. You release the rest of your giggles as he stares at you with that smile he charmed you with the first time.
"I had so much fun tonight," he mutters against your palm, leaving a goodbye kiss.
"Well, it doesn't have to end... my mom isn't home. You can for a bit if you want," you tell him as your shyness begins to creep up on you.
"I would love to." H/n accepts with no hesitation. You fumble with the keys, opening up your dark house to let both of you inside. You delicately grab his hand, leading him into your room.
H/n settles himself down as he watches you slip some layers off your pretty body to be more comfortable. As you approach him, you can tell your boyfriend is pretty nervous. You quickly step toward him, about to open your mouth to question him, but he beats you to it.
"Y/n..." he locks eyes with you as he shakily grabs your hand. He pulls you to sit atop your smooth comforter.
All this sets your nerves off as you begin to overthink.
Does he want a break? Perhaps break up?
"Is something wrong?" You ask him as you are nervous about the answer.
"No uh..." the boy stutters as he squeezes both of your soft hands for comfort.
"Whatever it is... know that you can trust me," you reassure him.
He breathes in deeply before speaking softly to you, "I have loved being with you these past months, being able to be close and talk with you. And though I have made some mistakes, I hope you are able to trust me. What I'm trying to say is... you make me feel safe. I love your eyes, your body, and most importantly, your heart. I love the little giggle you give when you laugh; all your habits make you so attractive to me. I don't want to lose you... I love you."
The sudden three words echo in your head.
I love you.
He loves you?
You gaze into his eyes as you see him begin to shrivel away in fear of what you might say next.
Do you love him?
Yes, he makes you feel safe, and you love how you can trust him with your being. Being able to be next to him right now is just enough to feel him. You never gave these feelings a serious thought until now.
"I... I think I love you, too." You mutter, quite unsure but committed at the same time.
His head whips up as a smile slowly grows while he scoots closer to you. "You mean it?"
"I mean, yeah, you make me feel good. I love being with you and being able to know more about you," you confess.
You both stare as this silence declares a new phase in your relationship. The air around you both quickly changes as you instinctively lean toward his body, pressing your chest against his. Your noses bump against one another as you lean in to embrace his lips. The pace matches your fastly beating heart, the lust and love mingling with one another.
H/n breaks your passionate makeout, hoping to take it further as he leans you down. He moves his soft lips down your jaw and begins to softly place kisses on your skin.
His touch is gentle, yet deeply passionate as your body trembles with anticipation. You can almost feel the intensity of his desire as he takes you to new heights.
Your soft breaths escape you as you allow him to take control.
To take you... for your first time.
Chapter 17
Latching his watch onto his wrist, Florian takes one last look at his simple outfit. A crisp, white button-up and black slacks. Simple attire meant for the hours he will spend at work. Away from the love of his life.
"Handsome as always," she purrs, sneaking up on the tall man. She snakes her arms around his figure, locking eyes in the mirror.
"Love, I have to go," he turns to face the smaller being.
"Don't take too long," she says, hugging him once more before handing him his bag. She attempts to leave his side but is briefly pulled back for a passionate kiss.
"I will be back as soon as I can," he presses one last kiss against her forehead. He would much rather stay and wrap her in his embrace as she reads her latest book to him. With their cups of tea going cold as they lose time in the warmth they share. But alas, it will have to wait until he returns.
The two share one last glance before he heads off to the workshop. The front quietly shuts behind him as he turns to walk toward the car. Only to stand in place at the unpleasant surprise before him.
"My, my," he speaks, causing the figure to turn on its heels and face him. "H/n."
The boy smiles back, but something sly hides under the fake gesture. "Florian."
"I didn't know you lived so close," Florian purses his lips as he slowly strolls down the small staircase. Though he does know his address, what is he doing so far from home, and why in front of his temporary home?
"Oh, just taking a walk. It's a nice day outside," H/n glances around the sunlit neighborhood.
"Well, since you're here... I have been meaning to give an apology. I didn't know it would affect you as it did." The fake apology flies from his lips as he doesn't care how much it stung the boy. He wanted it to.
"Well, thank you, she was a friend of a friend who ended up in a poor situation," H/n shuffles as he shoves his hands deep within his pockets. "Anyways, don't let it bother you, and enjoy your day. It is very lovely today." H/n bids the man goodbye with a sly smile and heads down the sidewalk.
As Florian focuses on the fleeting figure, his car door, left ajar, goes overlooked.
Chapter 18
"What the fuck is this?" Florian's ears perk up at your suddenly raised voice. He jerks back as the photographs are being shoved into his personal space.
Florian's eyes dart to each of the alarming photos that have caused your outrage.
"Y/n... I don't know how that got in there." It is the truth, but he can sense that you are not in an understanding mood. He nervously runs his hands through his hair, the atmosphere between you both thick with tension.
"Bullshit! What the fuck is wrong with you!? You fucking creep!" He watches as you cautiously creep out of the vehicle. Searching for his ring attached to the silver chain around his neck, he quickly pulls it from under his outfit to perhaps calm you down.
"I promise I did not take these! I'm engaged for Christ's sake!" Florian begs you to take a look as his plan is beginning to turn for the worse.
"Fuck off!" Is your response as he stiffly watches you slam the entrance to your home.
What has happened?
It had happened so fast.
Florian picks up the scattered photos, and it takes a minute for the puzzle in his mind to complete.
Then the laughter flies from him.
H/n.
Just a walk? Not just that, but a move made on Florian, by H/n's sinister hands.
Clearly, the younger male finds him threatening, which spreads delight through Florian's body. He knows to calm himself and keep that part of himself at bay. He takes a deep breath and slowly exhales, letting go of the tension that had been building up in his body.
As Florian begins to get the vehicle moving, he knows what he must do. He has wanted to keep her as far away from the situation as possible, but it seems that the plan has changed.
It has come time for his love to make her appearance after all.
Chapter 19
The hurried footsteps carry out the short hallway as your worried boyfriend barges through your room. His sight is set on you rocking back and forth in order to console yourself.
"Oh H/n!" Your sorrowful expression sags as he runs toward you to comfort you.
"Baby, it's going to be alright," he whispers sweet nothings to you as he strokes your worrying head. It takes a while, but he manages to calm you down to be able to make coherent sentences.
"I just... I thought I found another friend, instead he lied to me. And he's a fucking creep!" You whine as your boyfriend listens to you without a single interruption.
"I know, I know..." he continues to soothe your aching head. "But to be honest, I didn't trust him from the beginning. I guess that's why I acted like that." He converses with you as you begin to lift yourself.
"I'm sorry... I was so stupid! Gosh!" You continue to blame yourself as he gives you a look of pity.
"You should listen to me more, and I'm glad you realize how it happened. You should listen to me more. It would be better to obey, wouldn't you agree?" He tilts his head with a blank stare, waiting for your response.
Though his words sound strange, you can't help but agree. "Yes... you're right."
"That's a good girl." He smiles widely as you begin to lie against his slender chest.
Though you can't view his crazed smile, H/n is ecstatic.
His plan has worked out.
He has separated you from the bastard, the one who dared taunt him.
Now he was a bit worried when Florian saw him that morning, but apparently, he isn't as alert as he seems.
But none of that matters to him as you are here in his arms.
Forever his.
Chapter 20
"Alright! I got the snacks!" You giggle as you settle on the carpet next to Iona and the heaps of blankets and pillows you both set on the ground.
"Okay, so snacks, blankets, movie choices, pillows, all check. But I feel like we're missing something," Iona taps her chin as she tries to ponder what the missing item is. But just as she is going to speak, your doorbell rings loudly.
"Pizza, aha!" You both jinx each other with the word before giggling as you rush to the door, eager to get your cozy afternoon started.
Your buzzing smile fades to an unpleasant expression as you are faced with an unwelcome figure, Florian.
"Leave." You spit unhappily as your mood spoils instantaneously.
"Please hear me out." He responds.
"No." This is all you give him as you begin to shut the door in the male's face.
"Five minutes, please, that's all I ask." He calmly begs you, making sure to keep his tone low. Your eyes search for something less than genuine emotion, but you are unable to find it as you sigh.
"Fine. But if you don't leave when I say, I swear I'm calling the cops." You cross your arms, giving him a visual of how serious you are attempting to come off.
"Of course, Y/n," he agrees without hesitation.
"Now, what did you want to say?" You hurry the conversation to the climax.
"There is someone who can prove that I would never do something as vile as taking pictures of you in that state." He vaguely says as he turns from you momentarily to nod toward the vehicle he rode in.
You shield your eyes from the blinding sun as the lithe figure comes into view, and you gasp at their beauty.
Her long tawny-brown strands curling in every direction they will, her light complexion, as well as the dark dots sprinkled amongst her face. Her heartening eyes set on you as she smiles to lower the hostility in the air.
You watch as the two link arms and she extends a well-manicured hand toward you. "I am Ian's fiancée. My name is Min-Young. Nice to meet you, Y/n."
Chapter 21
With one last stroke of his soft hand against your still face, H/n regrettably turns from you and begins to exit through his usual route.
Leaping from his makeshift route to the ground below your window, H/n begins his walk back to his empty house when a voice stops him from behind.
"Good evening... H/n."
H/n's eye twitches as he turns out to be met with a bright camera flash and a taunting smile.
"I'm here to repay for those photos you so kindly gave to me," Florian throws the fresh photos at H/n's feet.
"What are you talking about?" H/n replies as he knows there's not much he can do.
Florian lets out a boisterous laugh as his hand flies up to cover his face. "I thought we were past this, the tiptoeing around shit. But I'm letting you know that I know. You're not as smart as you think. I dug into everything about you. I can see straight through you."
H/n uncontrollably trembles at Florian's monologue; once again, H/n feels small.
"There it is... that pitiful look I have longed for. But there's just one thing I want to know: why? What made you murder my friend?" Florian hardens his furious look. "But no matter, I don't need to be fed anymore lies from your pathetic self. I will find out myself... just you wait."
Florian turns to walk away but throws a threat over his shoulder to the still man behind him, "Oh, and you be careful."
H/n hands twitch as he locks onto the slowly fleeting figure belonging to Florian.
What to do?
He has worked so hard to hide his past from intruding eyes, but of course, it has to be him. Florian.
Gritting his teeth, once again impulsiveness surges through his body as he lunges for one of the scattered rocks embedded in the dirt. H/n dashes forward as he swings the hard object at Florian's skull.
As Florian's consciousness fades, H/n stands huffing proudly. He's back on top.
Chapter 22
The long chestnut brown eyelashes belonging to Florian flutter as he winces due to the sharp throbbing on the back of his head.
The dry blood stains his neck as he tries to stand, but realizes he can't.
He feels the restrictive bonds around his wrists as he searches the dingy basement for a clue to his whereabouts.
Suddenly, faint humming drifts to his ears as he can hear the door creak open. Florian's attention snaps to the tauntingly slow steps belonging to his capture. "Good, you're finally awake."
H/n? How?
Florian's mind wanders off to last night when he had confronted the young man in front of him. Ah. When he turned his back. What a foolish mistake on his part.
"I wondered how long you were going to be out for, but I'm glad my new plaything is awake," H/n smiles at the male with sinister intentions clouding his mind as he drags a sharp blade across Florian's tense face. "Ah! But before that, I have a surprise for you."
H/n sets the knife down before walking over to a large plastic bag to drag it over. He releases his hold and allows it to thud against the ground, revealing the contents to the stoic male.
Florian's face contorts as he recognizes that familiar decaying face: Chelsea.
"She just had to put her meaningless words in my sweet Y/n's head. That's why she had to go," he tuts as he slides the garbage back into its previous place.
"I just wanted to show you what's going to become of you," he squats in front of Florian, peering into his shaking pupils, "But unlike last time, I get to have some fun."
Chapter 23
Rocking in your heels, you are on the barren sidewalk in front of your home. Patiently humming along to a stuck tune in your mind as you wait for the arrival of Florian and Min-Young.
As Florian had come to your house just a few days ago with his supposed fiancée, Min-Young, they had invited you to dinner to ease the tension. You agreed, believing their spiel of what happened and how they came to love each other.
As you continue to wait as the night air passes you by, you realize the couple is late, which is odd to you when you think about it.
If he has just apologized, why would he disappoint you again?
You try to stretch your patience further, but you are at your breaking point. You let out a heavy sigh as you pull your cell out to dial your lover's number.
"Hello? Y/n? Aren't you at dinner?" H/n confusedly greets you from the other side.
"They never showed up, I've just been standing here... waiting," you give a pitiful laugh.
"Hey... why don't you let me pick you up? You can spend the night." He suggests.
You smile at the suggestion, feeling your mood lift, "I would love that."
"Great. Be there soon, Y/n. I love you."
"...I love you too." The call disconnects as you stroll back to your room to pack a small bag for the weekend. It isn't long until H/n texts you about his arrival.
You happily jog over to the passenger seat, eager to lift your spirits further with your boyfriend. "Hey, H/n," you kiss him on the cheek as he returns the gesture on your forehead.
"Ready for the best sleepover of your life?" He teases you, taking the car out of park.
"Of course I am." You answer the boy with a growing smile.
Chapter 24
The blinds leave you no protection from the preying sunlight as you stir awake.
Memories of the previous hours slide into your mind as you turn to face the shirtless boy in the bed. You stare at him, grateful for his efforts to cheer you up. You gently peck on his cheek before fleeing to the bathroom in the small hallway outside the room.
As the refreshing water glides down your face, you come up with the sudden idea to make breakfast for the two of you.
You quickly run back to the room to check if the boy is still entangled in slumber, which he is.
You silently smile before tiptoeing to the kitchen to browse around. You find he doesn't have many ingredients to work with. But if you knew anything from living with your mother, you could make anything out of nothing.
It isn't long before you begin to make a plan for your visionary breakfast spread. You hum along to a song H/n introduced you to last night before you hear a peculiar noise.
You pause for a moment, thinking you were tricking yourself into hearing something, but there the noise is again.
You follow the trail of thudding until you find an eerie door screaming for you to turn away, but your curiosity shoves its warnings away.
The creaking cushions your footsteps as you are moments away from grasping the door handle.
You twist it to gain entrance to the concealed space before you. The cold air surrounds you as you walk further into the darkness below.
Searching for a light switch, you trip over an object as you fall to your knees. You hear a grunt next to you as fright shoots through your body.
"Who are you?!" You shriek, standing to your feet.
"Y/n? So I was right, it is you." The voice responds with hinted relief.
You recognize the voice, "F...Florian?"
"Yes, please help me." He pleads.
You back away from the figure as you finally find a light source. The dim light falls against the room, which is strange and barren, except for the few tools and garbage bags scattered around.
Your eyes quickly fall on the tied-up figure you identify as your friend, Florian.
"How did you get here? W-What are you doing here?" You question in panic as you rush to free him.
"H/n... He kidnapped me, and I found Chelsea."
The sentence reaches your ears, but nothing makes sense: "I don't understand..."
As he regains the feeling in his wrists, he shakily points to the large garbage bag in the corner.
You cautiously walk over to the bag, noticing the odor which entices you further. You take a large gulp to swallow your nervousness as you open the plastic flap, only to fall backward in horror.
There in the bag, your friend's lifeless eyes peer into yours.
Chapter 25
Groggily shaking his head from side to side, Florian wakes to his sad reality of being tied to a pole in a dingy basement.
The vivid memories from the previous hours of H/n using Florian as his personal toy flash in his mind. Only when the doorbell suddenly rang with a familiar, faint voice did H/n give him a break from the torture.
Not before giving him a sedative and flashing one of his signature smiles.
Though it's dark, he can practically feel her cold eyes stuck to him. A warm tear glides on his face as he slams his head repeatedly against the pole he's tied to.
The dangerous emotion seeping out of Florian distracts him as he doesn't even notice the door creaking open.
Suddenly, he realizes the cautious footsteps sounding about; who else can be down here?
H/n would have already turned on the light to begin his twisted games. Could it be? Y/n?
He did faintly hear a voice he swears he remembers. Suddenly, the mystery figure trips over his outstretched legs. He grunts at the sudden weight atop him.
"Who are you?!" They shriek as Florian confirms his suspicions; it is her.
"Y/n? So I was right, it is you."
"F...Florian?" Y/n whispers doubtfully.
"Yes, please help me." Relief washes over the male as the light flickers, and both lock eyes.
"How did you get here? W-What are you doing here?" Y/n fastly comes toward him, fiddling around with his restraints, trying to release him.
Florian debates within himself about giving her the truth. Why hide it now? "H/n... He kidnapped me, and I found Chelsea."
The restraints fall from his wrists as Y/n tilts her head unsurely, "I don't understand..."
The feeling of disgust fills Florian as he shakily points to the plastic bag that conceals their friend. She slowly walks over to the bag and opens the plastic flap, only to fall backward in horror.
A shrill shriek is released into the air as Florin rushes over to cover her frightened sobs. He tries to console her while quieting her down, but this begs the question, where is H/n?
"Y/n," Florian gently cups her face and gets the frantic girl to face him, "Focus, please. Where is H/n?"
Her pupils dance around, trying to calm her busy nerves after witnessing such a dark sight. "I... uh, he should be asleep." Suddenly, a creak from the worn-down, wooden steps alerts them of a new presence.
A dark, lifeless expression encounters the duo.
H/n.
Chapter 26
His still figure pierces holes through your duo with lowered eyes as you all are frozen in momentary silence. "Darling... what are you doing down here?" H/n tries to avoid the blatant situation and slowly approaches the one who has a hold on his heart.
"Stay back!" You scream as more tears run down your shaky body. "H/n what the fuck is this!?"
"Love, I can explain," he grits through his teeth as his temper begins to reach its peak.
"Explain what!? How my fucking friend is in your basement and how Chelsea is dead in a fucking garbage bag!?"
"Calm down... please," H/n's sweet voice begins to fade away as an unfamiliar tone seeps through.
As H/n closes the distance, Florian places his arm in front of you in a protective manner as he tells your boyfriend to stay back.
"Y/n... Baby, please, give me another chance. It- It wasn't my fault." He begins pleading for you to take his side. To come back to him.
"No." You struggle to sound out through the falling tears, "Get the fuck away from me!"
How can he shamelessly beg you like this?
After he murdered your best friend and told you that he loves you. Your heart pounds loudly, ringing throughout your shivering body as H/n's head droops and his body contorts as his fists clench.
"It's him! Them! Not me! They keep trying to fucking take everything away from me! You're mine! And I'm going to make sure it stays that way." He yells, his emotions burgeoning as he leaps toward the man responsible for the rage rushing through him.
Chapter 27
The two males crash onto the frigid basement floor as you rush backward to avoid the impact.
Your mind races as your eyes dash from each figure, trying to come out on top, but the look in their eyes makes you quiver.
What can you even do? What could you do to help? Dialing the police station is what comes to mind, someone reliable for help.
You reach for your phone, which, thankfully, slid into your pants pocket before the ordeal unfolded. The rough shouting crowds your ears as you try to relay your dilemma to the operator. You shout the address before looking toward the two when you freeze.
The satisfaction of hearing the painful grunts from the cowardly male below him makes his body feel refreshed. But something makes Florian ease up in the middle of the brawl.
Maybe it is the reminder of his past, how lost he was in his unusual dark ways. Or the words of his lover reaching him to remind him he's done his part, that he's accomplished what he traveled here to do.
But that doesn't matter as H/n is able to spot a glistening shard, which he reaches for in Florian's weakening hold. With his fleeting strength, H/n lodges the sharp edge of broken glass into Florian's side.
The tables quickly turn as Florian's surprise blinds him from the quick shove served by H/n. Quickly wrapping his shaky, slender hands around Florian's broad throat, the freakish shrieks fly from H/n as images of Florian's death rush through him.
At last, another death will be delivered by his hands.
But the moment never reaches him, as you rush over with a heavy object to strike the male with.
Chapter 28
Your widened pupils danced at the sight of patterned blood stains on your shaky hands.
Your murderous lover thumped against the basement floor as the velvet liquid seeped through the wound. He could feel the hatred, the intense obsession, the cloudy feelings slip from him as he reached out to you. Hoping you'd give him one last chance to prove his love and claim you once and for all.
But Florian rushed your stagnant body up the creaky stairs with the last of his fleeting energy. If only he could make it to the door, to the help that waited for you both in the cold of night.
Alas, you had stumbled out both of you, ready to collapse at any given moment.
Thankfully, the call to the station wasn't in vain as they arrived quickly. As if on cue, ready to relieve you both. To give you the rest you so rightfully earned.
Florian rushed to the team of doctors to receive treatment, and you were given a blanket before they requested your recollection of the event.
Since then, time has flown by.
Florian's surgery was a success, and he is taking his time with the mental and physical recovery.
While you are pacing yourself to overcome the painful betrayal.
Chelsea was given the proper burial with her body where it can peacefully rest. Under smooth granite, with her name etched in, was a final present to the fallen young girl.
But that doesn't mean she will be forgotten. Your footsteps echo through the empty sunlit cemetery as you approach her resting place.
A quivering smile fixes your face as you gently set yourself down on the growing grass. You place the bouquet of fresh florals upon her gravestone before hugging yourself and listening to the chatty winds around you.
"I hope this pleases you enough. I hope you forgive me. If only I had listened to you, then none of this would have happened to you. You'd still be with me, with Florian. Your mom... she was so broken at the funeral. I promise to take care of her because I know you would do the same for me. I love you so much, I promise to never forget you. Chelsea, I miss you so much," the sorrowful speech leaves your broken self. As you finally accept she won't be coming back. But you know where she is... right in your heart.
"Y/n!" You hear Florian beckon for you. You leave a fleeting kiss on her gravestone as you rush back to the vehicle. You climb in as you lock eyes with your savior.
"Listen... Florian, I never got a chance to properly thank you." You start your speech, but you are quickly interrupted by the male.
"Don't mention it, I did what I came to do. And I'm glad I got to save you along the way," he briefly speaks before driving off from the vast cemetery.
You close your eyes, feeling a sense of peace wash over you.
Great friends to lean on and a new mindset, thanks to your manipulative, dead lover.
But never mind that, here you are, a survivor.
That is the end of My Sweet Boy. Thanks for reading.
