Nameless
Earth, wind, water and fire. Elements stern yet so fragile. It can make one weep as it does invoke the feelings of the sublime. They are all around yet forever out of reach.
Wind
Caressing the branches as it passes through. Not too long to fall in love but not too short to be forgotten. This single touch is but a passing glimpse from the tree of all the scent that the wind does carry forward. As the clouds are pushed along this quaint blue sky, they are almost tickled by the gentle touch pressing on past. Passing but never remaining. It is just another tree to float by, but each wooden embrace leaves behind some dripping sap.
Tree
Branches glisten and wave as they dance in the spring’s song breeze. The cool wind sings such a delightful tune. Almost impossible not to want to share this waltz. She sings and howls and with each blow the branches sway in rhythm. Never missing a beat. They are entranced in such a heavenly sound. The wind a hand upon the branches wooden arm. Flexible yet delicate. If too much force is applied the branch will snap. So, they dance together in blissful tenderness. That is until the wind loosens it’s grasps and fades away with the calming that comes from the summer sun. The branches are left still and motionless.
River
Silence blossoms as the moon shivers onto the night. As radiant stream floats steadily in place. As does the warrant of water that cries its way down towards an unknown end. The pebbles are carried graciously across the translucent flickers of the water. Gliding through as if riding on the clouds. They are cradled in the arms of the river as children of the earth. They are drifting away and moving further down. Some can’t handle the sheer velocity or the weight of the rivers everlasting flow and sink below to join those who have come before.
Others arrive at the end of its travels on the beach. The water kisses the shore as its pebbles meets the silky-smooth salt that pours from the oceans lust. Dragging it back towards the horizon in a frenzied embrace, only to lose grip and see it damp but still present on the land. It tries again in vain to pull it back but the pebbles cling to each other like the horde of Zebra when a predator approaches. Like Sisyphus, the waters must relinquish its goal and watch all that effort fall again. And in desperate attempts it may try to reassert itself unto the shore but its cravings remain unfulfilled. Yet it can never let go.
Fire
The bleak ash that forms around the bright flame covers the once lush sea of trees. Tainted by the hellish flames that consume all to quench an unsavoury thirst. Death, oh the corpses that litter like scarps of flesh on the fresh carcass. How could you dare die like this? Perish like this and leave such a gaping wound where all green is extinguished. Blackened like the dense smoke that fades out the sun. I look upon this sea of bodies like the remnants of Troy. A feeling of hollowness empties everything once captured within. I laid my horse out for love, and let the virus seep its way through. Not even the river had survived. Dried up in this scorching inferno. Now it is but a mere bed of filled with burned pebbles.
That is the end of Nameless . Thanks for reading.
