"Yes, I admit it. I am a bit difficult, maybe even stubborn, but still, I am a woman after all, and I have a desire to be loved.” She said, looking at the man standing in front of her with tears in her eyes, fiercely looking at him, that even he could feel her frustration. 
She turned her back to him and faced her vanity mirror, still keeping each other’s gaze through the mirror. “What is it?” She asked while she tried to fix the mascara running down her face. 
“Why are you so quiet? You always have something to say, and for a man, you sure do talk a bit too much, so why are you not saying anything.?” 
The room stayed quiet for a moment, and both of them had nothing to say for a while until he finally spoke. “Darling I-," “EVE, MY NAME IS EVE,” she corrected. He pressed his lips and let out a sigh and continued, “Eve I am sorry that it has to come to this end, but I still love Ayana. Shameless as I may sound, I am sorry for my carelessness. I didn’t mean for you to get hurt; I thought you were aware of my feelings for Ayana and how deeply I feel about her.” He said to her.
“I was so hurt, and I just didn’t know how else to deal with the pain, and I know I went over my limits and led you on. At that time you were the only thing that kept me from thinking about her, and I did stop thinking too much about her. I hadn’t realized that my feelings for you were only a distraction from my own pain. I became so dependent on you to move on from what happened between Ayana and me because I couldn’t do it on my own, pathetic as it sounds, but I needed you every.
“Needed me, you say,” said Eve; she laughed at the statement. “You told me you loved me and I believed you; you said we should move in together, and you even started talking about starting a family with me, and it was all because you were trying to forget your ex-girlfriend, “ALL OF THIS!” Eve yelled while motioning her hands around the interior of the house they had bought together, “THIS!” She yelled again while she took off the engagement ring she was given by the man standing in front of her; she threw it in his direction. 
“You’re telling me all of this was just so you can distract yourself from Ayana. WOW!, just wow, she paused for a moment and said, “You’re a coward.” She said it with a look of disappointment and disbelief. 
You can’t even deal with your own pain that you hide from them behind me; you use me; you lie to me and say you didn’t mean to hurt me. She paused for a second and said, “Have you ever loved me?” She asked him, and the room became silent as they just stared at each other. 
“I’m so stupid, I can’t believe I ever trusted you, OH MY GOD! I am so ashamed of myself for ever believing you.” She cried, “I’m so stupid.” She said again silently, with her face covered by her hands and her hair draping over her face.
