At the Monster Gala, secrets slip faster than champagne—and by midnight, no creature leaves untouched.

The Metropolitan Monster Museum of Art’s Monster Costume Institute is alive tonight as the annual Monster Gala unfolds in Washington, D.C. The marble floors shimmer beneath candlelit chandeliers, and the air hums with anticipation as creatures of legend glide through the grand hall in couture stitched from centuries of myth and mischief.

The gala raises money to preserve the institute’s vast collection of dresses, jewelry, and fashion accessories—pieces dating from the 1100s to the present day. Maintaining this historic archive is a monumental task, one that requires both generosity and discretion from the supernatural elite who gather here each year. Every gown, every relic, every jeweled mask carries a story, and tonight those stories feel especially alive.

A lively, electric energy fills the room as monster guests settle into their dinner seats. Conversations spark like fireworks. Laughter rises. Spirits are high, and reputations feel unusually fragile. The drinks—and the edible cannabis—circulate freely, loosening tongues and setting the stage for a scandalous night that will be whispered about for decades, perhaps even centuries.

Jason finds himself seated beside Chucky, newly elected to the U.S. Congress of Monsters. But after one too many cannabis brownies, Chucky begins boasting about his fraudulent schemes. He brags that he used a fake company to swindle his political donors, speaking far too loudly for a man with secrets. Jason quietly excuses himself, slips into the restroom, and calls the FBI. Chucky is later sentenced to seven years in prison, his political career evaporating before dessert is served.

Nearby, Witch Ophelia confesses her love for Batman—right in front of Catwoman. Shocked, Catwoman splashes champagne in her face, the bubbles catching the candlelight as the room gasps. Their argument erupts into a full spectacle, and Secret Service escorts both women out as guests pretend not to stare, though everyone is listening.

Mia, the Teenage Witch, sits beside the Gangster of Souls and gently asks about his divorce. He reveals he has no intention of ending his marriage, even though Mia is carrying his child. Heartbroken, she breaks down in tears, her grief rippling through the table like a spell no one can counter. A few guests reach for her, unsure whether to comfort her or avoid becoming part of the scene.

Pandora pleads with Zeus to lift the curse that forces her to relive the opening of the chest every Halloween. Zeus refuses, insisting she remain his secret mistress for eternity, his voice cold as marble and twice as unyielding.

Earl Phantom sits next to Duke Skelton, who drunkenly comments on Earl’s wife’s lip fillers. Earl lashes out, knocking the duke unconscious. An ambulance rushes the Duke to Creature Care Hospital as guests murmur about what happened.

Meanwhile, Maleficent and Evil Prince Charming slip away for a forbidden rendezvous in a secluded room of the institute, their absence noted but unspoken.

And all the while, Count Dracula’s invisible goblin secretly records every scandal on a “Mummy Mobile” smartphone. Dracula plans to use the footage as leverage during the fundraising auction, ensuring the night’s generosity is… highly motivated.
