The Metropolitan Museum of Art | Monster Costume Institute’s annual Monster Gala is underway in Washington, D.C.

The Monster Gala is a charity event that raises money for the Monster Costume Institute. Since the 1100s, the institute has housed thousands of current and vintage dresses, jewelry, and fashion accessories for men, women, and children. It is expensive to keep this institute functioning.

As a co-organizer of the Monster Gala, I, Mrs. Mia Z. Edwards – Dracula, am running around in a frenzy, holding virtual meetings with event managers to ensure a flawless evening on and off the Black Carpet.

The Metropolitan Monster Museum of Art’s entrance is alive with the bustling presence of cable news stations, Substack writers, reporters, paparazzi, podcasters, and social media influencers, all diligently setting up their equipment and preparing for the grand spectacle of the Monster Gala’s Black Carpet walk on October 27.

The cable news networks, including CNN, MSNBC, FOX NEWS, Bloomberg Television, CNBC, BBC, and Monster E-News, are setting up their cameras and audio equipment to capture the extravagant outfits of the monster guests as they walk the Black Carpet at the entrance of The Metropolitan Monster Museum of Art.

Substack’s CEO has handpicked three writers to craft a detailed narrative of the Monster Gala for publication on the highly coveted writing platform. Equipped with tables, laptops, and chairs, they are ready to document the unfolding events.

Reporters from various news outlets, such as Monster E-News, Newswire Death, and Press Weekly Horror, have sent their top journalists, including Jack Skellington, Clown Pennywise, Witch Endora, Mr. Grim Reaper, and Witch Sabrina, to cover the gala. They have set up cameras and microphones at the street entrance to capture enthralling footage of the arriving monster guests.

Although I have reservations about the paparazzi’s presence, we have allowed them to set up an area in front of the Black Carpet for their cameras with large zoom lenses. Despite their past rude and disrespectful behavior towards the monster celebrities, my husband Count Dracula seems to enjoy their attention.

The renowned podcaster, Cruella de Vil, hosts the popular show “Horror, Demons, Witches & Ghouls.” She will be broadcasting live from the Black Carpet, having interviewed many of us monsters in the past. Her podcast booth is equipped with soundproof barriers, lights, podcasting equipment, microphones, and a stylish lounge area.

Representatives from popular social media platforms like “X” (formerly known as Twitter), Threads, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok have prepared their area for interaction with the monster celebrities. They come armed with video cameras, lights, and large microphones.
The influencers have requested a detailed schedule of events to ensure they can capture every moment, take photos with the monster celebrities, and post them with a list of Monster Gala hashtags.

Lastly, we have arranged for a “360 Photo Booth” using “The Glambot” camera, which captures slow-motion shots of our monster celebrities’ outfits.

With all the various news media and social media platforms set up and ready to cover the event, my work here is complete.

Now comes the moment for me to carefully choose one of the late Adolphus Werewolf’s exquisite “Gothic Black” haute couture outfits to grace the Black Carpet.

My esteemed husband, Count Dracula, will also have his attire selected from Werewolf’s remarkable collection.
