One day a little planet, in the middle of space, woke from a dreamless sleep...

PART ONE: LIFE

One day a little planet, in the middle of space, woke from a dreamless sleep.

It looked around.
It was all alone.
But it didn’t feel alone.
‘Hello?’ It called out into the lifeless dark.
‘Hello, little planet.’ Came a voice from the void.
The little planet was so surprised to hear another voice it almost didn’t answer.
‘W-What are you?’ Asked the planet.
‘I am everything.’ Answered the voice.
‘What do you mean?’
‘I am everything and nothing. I am the nothingness of space and time and the infinity of life and death. I have seen everything. I know everything. I am everything.'

The little planet thought for a second.
‘And what am I?’ It asked the voice.
‘I cannot show you for you will not understand, but in time you will.’
‘How do you know?’ Asked the little planet.
‘For I asked the same question a long time ago.’ Replied the voice.
‘And did you find the answer?’
‘Yes.’
‘Will I find the answer?’
This time the voice did not reply. In fact, they never spoke again.
The little planet was sad, for now, it was all alone again.

For millions of years it floated through the cold and empty space.
For millions of years it was alone.
It had seen many things on its journey.
It had seen mountains rise from the depths of the sea.
It had seen the smallest seed grow into the tallest tree.
It had seen creatures turn into other creatures.
It had seen life itself.

After a billion years the little planet had seen it all. It knew it all.
The nothingness of space and time and the infinity of life and death. Everything.
Yet, it still hadn’t found the answer.
In fact, it had forgotten the question.

PART TWO: TIME

One day a little creature, in the middle of a valley, woke from a dreamless sleep.

She looked around.
She was all alone.
But she didn’t feel alone.
‘Hello?’ She called out into the lifeless dark.
‘Hello, little creature.’ Replied a voice from the void.
The little creature was so surprised to hear another voice she almost didn’t answer.
‘W-Where are you?’ Asked the creature.
‘I am everywhere.' Answered the voice.
‘What do you mean?’
‘I am everywhere and nowhere. I am the sunlight on the horizon. I am the waves on the beach. I am the falling rains, the lightning, and the hurricanes. I am the beating heart of the rabbit and the sturdy legs of the fox. I am the nothingness of space and time and the infinity of life and death. I have seen everything. I know everything. I am everything.’

The little creature thought for a second.
‘And where am I?’ She asked the voice.
‘I cannot show you for you will not understand, but in time you will.’
‘How do you know?’ Asked the little creature.
‘For I asked the same question a long time ago.’
‘And did you find the answer?’
‘Yes.’
‘Will I find the answer?’
This time the voice did not reply. In fact, they never spoke again.
The little creature was sad, for now it was all alone again.

Many years went by and the little creature forgot all about the voice.
She had seen many things on the journey of her life.
She had seen the seasons come and go.
She had creatures live and die.
She had many children and those children had children.
She had seen the young overtake the old.
She had seen time itself.

After many years of living the little creature had seen it all. She knew it all.
The nothingness of space and time and the infinity of life and death. Everything.
Yet, she still hadn’t found the answer.
In fact, she had forgotten the question.

PART THREE: LOVE

One day a little soul, in the middle of a womb, woke from a dreamless sleep.

He looked around.
He was all alone.
But he didn’t feel alone.
‘Hello?’ He called out into the lifeless dark.
‘Hello, little soul.' Replied a voice from the void.
The little soul was so surprised to hear another voice he almost didn’t answer.
‘W-Who are you?’ Asked the soul.
‘I am everyone.’ Answered the voice.
‘What do you mean?’

‘I am everybody and nobody. I am the first smile and the first laugh. I am the heart skips and sleepless nights. I am the shattered pieces of everything. I am the summer of happiness and the winter of sorrow. I am the nothingness of space and time and the infinity of life and death. I have seen everything. I know everything. I am everything.'

The little soul thought for a second.
‘And who am I?’ He asked the voice.
‘You am I.' The voice answered.
‘So there is only one of us?’

‘Yes.'
