Caves, souls and clocks without batteries
A woman who lives in a cave finds her other soul
There was a girl who was a woman. Who never married or had kids. She lived in a cave with lovely sea view windows where the damp made her ill. The damp of memories that tortured her soul, her brain, her mind and her body.
She learnt not to trust, and when she left the cave she returned before sharing words with anybody.
One day, she had a dream. There were other caves nearby. Looking through the window, she saw other women and other men that were boys and girls as she was. They were stuck at the time when they were pushed to live in caves by a seashore made of tears. They grew up in a clock without batteries where time passed, but their souls were dead years ago.
One day, the dream came to life. She stood out of the cave, and the others did too. 2 people, ten people, 100 people, thousands of souls stuck in the past.
They look at each other, not trusting anyone.
For days, weeks and months, every morning, they would do the same. Thousands of eyes staring without words to say.
After one year, the thousands of souls became 100, then 10, and finally 2. The girl that was a woman, and the man who was a boy.
She talked first, the first time a word was said since she entered the cave years ago.
" Where are they?". The girl asked the boy.
" They left the cave and walked along the seashore first and deep to the sea after". The boy replied.
Tears fell from 4 eyes while the empty caves started to crash.
"When did your clock stop?" The boy asked.
" The night I kept awake in case it happened again ". The girl said.
"When did your clock stop?". The girl asked the boy.
" Since the first day, I saw my mother walking to the deep sea". The boy replied.
The girl and the boy started walking while wetting their feet in the cold water. When they faced each other, they recognised in their eyes the saddest they had ever seen before.
" There are batteries in my cave I want to share with you". The boy said.
The girl left the cave, brain, body, and mind followed.
" I have a clock I want to share". The girl said.
The two tortured souls would talk all day. Words full of sadness of a past that didn't want to go.
With time, the girl and boy's thoughts were forgotten, and only the woman and man's memories surfaced.
" Should we move to other places where the damp don't make us ill?" The woman asked.
" I have packed already". The man replied while grabbing her hand. They walked, leaving the sea behind, and the two caves left started falling apart.
That night, the woman slept without having dreams that were not dreams but memories of nights without sleeping. The man slept, seeing her mother swimming in a sea made of tears.
That is the end of Caves, souls and clocks without batteries . Thanks for reading.
