Revenge provided from a future guy

Ex post facto

Come uno tsunami.
Anni fa. Tutto sepolto dal tempo e dalla vita.
Fino a ieri. Quel SMS...
Aaah”
Un’altra fitta.
Ora ricordava.
E tutti erano fuggiti... tranne Stefano.
Come era giunto, il tizio scomparve, sorridendo.
Ancora una fitta alle tempie. L’ultima.

Just like a tsunami.
Something strange in his mind. Memories were... being twisted, driven by a strange force.
That absurd night... unfair phrases, the woman who accused him with a stern gaze.
Years ago. Everything buried by time and life.
Until yesterday. That SMS...
A suggestion. An idea.
No, it hadn’t gone like that. His friends had said no angry "goodbye" to him. Sara had not gone away hand in hand with...
"Aaaahhh! What a headache!" Stefano shouted. The well-known images were... running away, fading. Then they stopped, in a corner of his mind: side by side, others appeared..
Shortly after their meeting, as soon as the villain started accusing him, there had been a flash of lightning. And he had appeared... yes, that guy, some kind of chrome uniform...
"Yeah, but who was he? No, but I haven't really met him... Aaahh.."
Another twinge.
Now Stefano was able to remember. He had emerged from the dark road on the hill. And after saying goodbye to both Ugo and Stefano, he had started shooting...
A red dot on his forehead. Riddled with shots, Ugo had fallen to the ground. And everyone had fled away... except Stefano.
As he got there, the guy disappeared, smiling.
Another pang in his temples. The last.
Stefano looked around himself. Everything was in order at home: Saturday lunch was almost ready and Monica was in the kitchen.
He went towards her... but stopped, staring at that photo frame on the table...
The thank-you card from Sara's funeral. She hadn't been able to cope with that all.
In one moment, he remembered the whole history, as it had been rewritten.
