In the distance thunder rumbled. The young petite girl looked to the sky. She eyed the darkening clouds in suspicion. It did not feel like a normal storm was on the horizon. This felt wrong, malevolent. This was a primal force not of nature. Something was coming. She was not sure as to what it could be.
What did she care? She was a faerie. Faeries possessed powerful magic. They were known for their kindness and how their magic is the most extraordinary ever.
Lindsey flittered about the woods at a fast pace. She zipped in and out of tree trunks that had holes in them. She was looking around for others of her kind. They were such busy creatures like her.
She searched about high and low looking for the others. She just happened to be curious as to what kind of work her kin may be doing. She was interested in helping, out. In her own little way that was.
Pranksters had their own way of doing things and she was the ultimate jokester. She would prove it, soon as she found where everyone was hiding.
She continued flying through the woods. Zig zagging between the tree branches. She punched holes through leaves. She picked up speed.
The forest would soon start to change colours in the weeks to come. Autumn was nearing its season.
Already leaves were just beginning to turn because of the hot dry summer.
Lindsey had heard that one of her sisters had burned down a good portion of the forest, just days ago.
My pyro silly bitch of a sister always causing trouble. That insane faerie had to do her stupid fire dance again, Lindsey thought.
She saw a group of lights ahead. They moved about in the air and on the ground. That had to be faeries, for sure.
Lindsey slowed her pace and then came to a stop atop a tree branch just outside the glade the other faeries worked in.
She spied on her fellow faeries for awhile. She moved about the leaves and stayed out of sight. Hiding behind the trees she flew up higher. Better range from above.
She waited for a time and watched as the other faeries danced and played about in the grass and flowers. A sprite ran along a fallen log and leaped in the air with a summersault spin. He landed perfectly while continuing to run.
Lindsey was impressed. She wondered something and decided to assess her theory. She pointed with her finger.
Zap!
A joint of lightning shot forth and hit the sprite faerie in the ass. He yelped in pain as smoke sizzled. The sprite looked about angrily. He knew a lightning faerie zapped him.
Damn those faeries!
He searched around. Inside the fallen log nearby the surrounding trees. He checked under flowers and toadstools. Faeries are much smaller than humans, you see. He went about everywhere.
Lindsey rolled about her tree branches holding her belly in giggles. She always found the best hiding spots to pull her pranks.
The lightning faerie rolled over onto her stomach. She extended her arm out with her finger pointed forward and her thumb up.
“I spy with my little eye something that will be my next bullseye,” she whispered to herself. She winked one eye shut.
“BAM!” she shouted as lightning shot out of her finger and hit a different faerie in the butt.
The girl yelped in fury.
“Damn, you Lindsey,” the faerie girl shouted shaking her fist to the empty air.
The lightning faerie rolled around holding her tummy in laughter. This brought her much, joy in life.
She gazed through the leaves and watched as the others moved about. Pixies flittered in the air from tree limb to tree limb.
Lindsey watched them with a smile. Her eyes twinkled. She had an idea. She jumped up on her feet and leaped in the air. Her wings fluttered and carried her higher into the tree she was in. Into the upper most boughs she went. The faerie stayed there hidden in the leaves.
Lindsey put a small hand to her mouth and giggled. What she had planned was funny to her.
She placed her hands out in front. Her fingers had spread wide and curled in a sphere like ball. Static built up in her palms. A ball of tiny lightning bolts was, formed. Lindsey bounced it off the tree branch. It made a vibrating crackling sound. It had been, held hovering in her palm. Lightning flashed in her eyes. A quirky smile displayed itself on her fair features.
Lindsey wiggled her pointed ears. She was about fun and mischief.
The day grew darker as night made its way in. It was time to brighten things up. The sphere of lightning left her palm and rose above the trees. The static ball just hovered for a moment glowing, pulsing. The sphere grew larger. It began to light up the sky. The lightning sphere burst. Tiny lightning bolts rained toward the ground.
The bolts scattered all over the glade and struck every faerie in the butt. Then the real chaos began.
Magical energy was, splayed. The faeries used their powers against each other. It became a light show like fireworks. The glade lit up like daylight. It was a bright colourful sight.
The Sidhe punched and kicked one another. There was hair pulling. Even the boys scratched faces.
The lightning faerie rolled around howling in laughter. She kicked her legs up and down. Tears stung her eyes as laughter continued to wretch her belly. She enjoyed the scene unfolding before her.
This was the highlight of her life at, the moment. Her eyes were alight with joy and happiness.
Soon, the fighting stopped, and the faeries cleaned up the glade. The destruction created disappeared as magic was, used to heal everything back to what it was.
Lindsey grew bored. She stood up and flew into the growing night. There was somewhere she had to go. A human male she must see. There was a cabin out here in the woods. He would surely be there. He was her husband, and it was their so-called summer home. This was the first time she had ever been fond of anyone in the thousands of years she has lived on this Earth. She loved that human of hers.
The world has changed so much. These modern times have machines that were like magic. Boxes with moving pictures that seemed so lifelike. Her husband explained that it was a type of science. That these motion pictures could broadcasted live through the air. The faerie suspected it was similar, like using the ley lines in nature to communicate with the other creatures of Fae.
Now, on the other hand she weaved through the air on her way home.
She moved like lightning. The excitement of seeing her human husband gave her a warm fuzzy feeling in her chest.
She had a thought. She liked spending time with him. That brought a grin to her petite features.
There!
The cabin was within sight now. The closer she got; a feeling of dread gnawed at her. The door broken down. The windows busted out. The faerie slowed her pace. The cabin was dark. She found this strange. The house was normally bright with lights.
Lindsey glided to the doorway. Glass littered the floor and porch. She hovered by the doorway. She felt fear. She did not want to go in. Did not want to see what had happened inside the house.
Her wings fluttered with light. Magic empowered her. She braced herself. Took a deep shuddering breath. She let it out slowly. The faerie snapped her fingers and a lightning ball of light appeared.
She sent it into the house. It lit up the room showing all that was damaged.
What happened here? She thought to herself.
There was danger here. Was her husband here or at the city penthouse?
Please be at the penthouse, she thought as a cold chill ran up her spine.
She sensed the dark magic nearby. Something came out of the shadows. It was a Snagger faerie. His leafy eyebrows gazed at her with a grinning sneer. He had a stocky root-like body. Spinelike thorns jutted out his back. He had long gangly legs that looked unstable.
“Where is my human?” Lindsey demanded; hands placed on her hips.
The Snagger lifted his arm and pointed a long spindle like finger at her. He cackled. A high-pitched noise that grated on her last nerve.
“Shut the fuck up,” she yelled.
Lindsey raised her hand up. A bolt of lightning form and she threw it like a spear.
The Snagger’s spine-like thorns weaved around in front of him like a shield. It did not save him as the bolt of lightning tore through him. Thorns scatters about and a sizzling hole smoked from his chest. He convulsed for a moment before he went still.
The lightning faerie gazed at the Snagger faerie and wondered why it was here in her territory.
She had to find her human husband. She had news for him.
Hope he is all right, she thought.
She flittered past the body of the dark faerie. His body rapidly decayed until there was nothing but ash.
As the lightning ball moved through the cabin it revealed extensive damage everywhere. She was afraid her husband may have been here.
The further she went in the worse it got. The place had become a trash heap. When she went upstairs into the bedrooms, there was blood and body parts everywhere. A cold sinking feeling chilled through Lindsey as she took in the scene.
She moved in bursts like lightning, looking for her beloved. The closet, under the bed, the add on bathroom. There was blood all over. Could not find her husband anywhere.
The gory parts were not his. They were the remains of her female friend in the human world. If she was here that meant the female’s husband was here somewhere also.
The lightning faerie darted out of the room into another and found the remains of her friend’s husband.
She remembered their names now. Carl and Wendy. They were nice to her even though she was ignorant of humans and their oddball ways. Although Lindsey’s husband kept that fact that she was a faerie a secret. Guess the secret is out.
Dark fey did this. They would pay dearly. Into the bedroom she flew. The room was in disarray but little blood. There was a body of a dark faerie, a nymph.
The lightning faerie clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. Her eyes squeezed shut.
“Where’s my Devon?” Lindsey suddenly shouted out. Her voice reverberated throughout the house. The cabin shook and groaned.
Calm yourself Lindsey. Must stay calm. You cannot let your power get out of control, she thought to herself. She hovered in the air her eyes still closed.
The faerie went to the nymph’s nude body. Lindsey narrowed her eyes as lightning flashed in them. Bitch tried to seduce her husband; she was sure of it. He must have killed her. There was a gapping hole in her chest. Had to have been from the 12-gauge shotgun lying on the floor. Where was he then? If he were dead, she would find him. If he were alive, she would find him.
Damnit!
They had come back. Shadow sprites. Shady little bastards. Full of spite. These dark fey eat other faeries, even their own. Disgusting creatures. Vile as they come.
A smirk appeared on Lindsey’s features. She held out her arms. Lightning slowly formed into sword like blades. She twirled them about.
“Time to use the force,” the lightning faerie whispered. The shadow sprites looked to one another perplexed.
True to her nature, Lindsey moved like lightning. In an instant she made a swath through two of the shadow sprites. They were, cleaved in half and dissolved into nothingness.
They tried to use their shadow magic. Dark tendrils reached out to grab hold but missed and cut to ribbons by the lightning blades.
Lindsey attached the blades together like a staff. They spun around and cut a new swath through the dark creatures. They died with screams upon their lips.
More came out of the shadows as the lightning faerie made her way through the cabin, causing more destruction.
She leaped in the air while in the air. She moved through the air as if on the ground. Sparks spread about with every step she took. Crackle sounds erupted when she moved and swung her blades.
More shadowy figures appeared. Lightning blades sliced the dark faeries piece by piece. Hollowed screams pierced the empty night. This light faerie grew angrier every time she cut down an enemy. Her eyes sparked lightning. She screamed and yelled as she killed the creatures before her. They had killed her friends and her husband was missing if not dead himself.
“Hiya!” Lindsey yelled. “You are not strong enough my young padawan.”
Another dark sprite died by her hand. She then threw her lightning twin blades and they slashed through other dark sprites. Other dark sprites managed to dodge the blades. They disappeared in a thunderous crackle of light.
A larger and darker shadow appeared in the front doorway. The lightning faerie eyed the archway.
“Ah, shit! A shadow hound,” she groaned out in despair. She slapped her forehead. “Why me?”
The hound coalesced. Sharp canines gnashed. Saliva dripped in foamy globs. A deep throated growl escaped its throat just before the attack.
Lindsey easily dodged the hound’s attack as she flew higher near the ceiling. The dark sprites tried to resume their attacks upon her, but the lightning faerie raised her hands and threw spears of lightning at them.
Lindsey formed a bow and began to shoot lightning arrows. That took care of the sprites for now.
The faerie hovered above the shadow hound. It snarled and eyed her with hunger.
“You would like to eat me. Piece of garbage,” she mused at the creature.
A wand with a star shape formed in her hand.
“Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!” she said and waved her hand. Lightning zapped the hound on his nose. He yelped then roared in rage. All gnashing jaws wet with saliva. Flicks of the foamy essence splattered Lindsey and she retched a dry heave.
“Disgusting brute of a mutt. Gross!” she screamed.
She waved the wand behind her back and zapped the hound again. Under her leg. Overtop of the head. Another bolt jolted through the hound. This enraged the beast further. The creature jumped. Jaws gnashed but never reached their intended target.
Lindsey yawned and patted her mouth with her hand. She tossed the wand, and it gave the hound a jolt on his behind. All the spots that had been, zapped on his body smoked and sizzled. The beast glared up at the lightning faerie.
Again, a blade slowly rose made of lightning. The colour even changed as it turned green. Lindsey made a deep humming noise. She was mimicking a sound effect from a movie as she swung her newly made lightning saber.
She rushed in toward the hound. It opened its jaws wide. The shadow hound used its magic. Shadowy flames formed, then dispersed.
The lightning faerie stood on the floor in a crouched posse.
“I am Jedi,” she whispered to herself.
She lifted her head and then darted outside. She hovered in the air. Something was wrong somewhere in the distance. She could feel it.
A realization hit her.
The other faeries. They are in danger, she thought.
She was off into the woods once again like a bolt of lightning. Zipping all over the place. Why were these dark fey attacking now? This was a question she would find the answers to, no matter what.
Finally, she reached the glade where she pulled the pranks on the other faeries. At the speed she had gone it only took her seconds to get there. But for a strange reason it seemed longer to her.
The sight that beheld the lightning faerie, stunned her. It looked like a warzone. There was fighting. There were bodies sturine about like ragdolls. There were limbs laying about. It was a bloody mess. Dark fey were even eating the Sidhe.
No! Diabolical!
Tears welled up in her eyes. They soon dripped down her cheeks. She watched as horrible things happened to her brethren. Lindsey gasped as she watched a group of dark sprites prey upon a lone sylph woman. They were…
In a flash, Lindsey was upon them. She was a burst of light that scattered them like flailing dolls. There was a burnt spot where she had landed. The lightning faerie looked to the other faerie.
“Leave! Find a safe place to hide,” Lindsey urged.
The female sylph ran into the woods.
Lindsey must save as much of her brethren she possible could. She formed her bow again and flew up high. Then let loose a reign of lightning death upon the dark fey creatures. They did not stand a chance. There was no outrunning her arrow bolts. Whatever surviving faeries were still alive, had escaped. So, Lindsey took her time in killing the dark Sidhe that were around. She took careful aim and took them out. One by one they fell.
A fat gobbler tried to spit acid on her but missed. The lightning faerie formed two dagger like lightning blades. She dashed around the gobbler and cut him up into ribbons. He fell apart into gory pieces.
Into the trees Lindsey went to hide for a moment. Something was bothering her. Dark fey did not amass like this. Not really any fae creature ate one another. Dark sprites do not eat their own. That was only rumour to scare young faeries to sleep. Like that ever worked. But why they?
She was sure of it. Sure, there were vile beasts out there but… it was on the tip of her tongue.
It was their eyes. They glowed red. Why? These creatures were acting out of character and… where was her husband? She was getting frustrated.
A shadowy essence surrounded the glade now. Dark fey came out of the shadowy mist. Something or someone must be controlling them. There was a darker magic at work here.
She had to figure it out soon. Needed to find the love of her life and prayed he still lived.
Observing the surroundings and waited as they came in droves. Then no more came out of the shadowy mist. They searched about for her. She now knew these monsters were looking for her.
All this was to get to her. There was a whisper in the wind. A dark whisper with her name as its voice.
This had to end this here and now. She flew out from the cover of the trees. Static filled the air. It built up until, it unleashed upon the dark fey. Lightning bolts spiderwebbed and struck the dark sprites down. They sizzled and burned to ash.
The dark sprites began to scatter about. They used their magic and dark blots spread in all directions seeking the faerie.
Lindsey swerved out of the way of the magic easily. She was a lightning faerie, of course. Speed was her domain. Nothing could touch a faerie like her.
The sprites were slow. Too slow. The bolts of lightning followed them wherever they went, and they died a death that burned and gave a convulsing jolt throughout the body.
Lindsey kicked and punched. She was lightning fast, and her power turned them to charred bits.
She flung her hands all about and electrical sparks scattered. They jolted and shocked everyone touched. Fire ignited in patches all around the glade. The fires began to spread. Panic set in as the dark fey were flaming torches running and flying around. Screams echoed in the darkness as the lightning faerie left the glade. The shadowy presence was no longer there. So, Lindsey went back to her cottage home to find clues as to her husband’s whereabouts.
When she reached the house a second time. The search began in the living room. There had to be something that would lead to Devon. There was a tv show she liked to watch with him. It was her favorite. She only wanted to watch the original dubbed series. They had redubbed it. Something about copyrights that the company Dic did not have. Did not care. Hated the new dubbed version at any rate.
She began to hum the theme song. It was catchy and had a great moral story behind it.
Lindsey suddenly stopped as she saw the dark pixie hovering in the doorway. There was another in the kitchen and more by the windows. One sat on the mantle of the fireplace. The pixie on the mantle was different than the others. She had… colour to her. Not much but a little regardless. She was quite beautiful in… shall we say… an Emo kind of way. With colour.
Her long wavey hair floated upward like it was in a zero-gravity zone. Eyes of a midnight blue that glowed. Wore purple eyeshadow on also. Her sharp looking features were jagged looking. A that nose sloped into a point. Glossy lips were the colour of roses. Surely did not mind bearing herself bare. Revealing bouncy breasts and the tuff of hair on her loins.
She is a powerful bitchy slut, Lindsey thought.
She could sense the power radiating from the dark pixie.
The pixie smirked.
“I had a taste of your husband. He is… shall we say… well endowed when it comes to his family jewels,” the pixie chuckled.
Linsey hovered with a cold feeling flowing through her.
No! She could not have. Or did she? Lindsey felt at a loss. Then she realized who had spoke.
They were not pixies. They were Leanan Sidhe, and she was Lhiannan Shee the Dark Seductress. Vile as they come. These faeries eat the souls of men and leave them ruined. Did this happen to her love?
Linsey raised a lightning shield and shoved it toward the dark fey.
Lhiannan barely had time to react as she disappeared in a burst of dark mist.
Lindsey flew about the cottage quickly. She began to hum her theme song. Her voice rang out into a verse as she fought the other faeries. Just so happened, this lightning faerie could fight and sing at the same time. Did not even get winded either.
Fighting evil by moonlight.
Winning love by daylight.
Never running from a real fight.
She is the one named Sailor Moon.
Magical energy crackled around the lightning faerie. Her wings were alite with colour and power. She spiraled through the air. She paused in midair, upstairs in the hallway. The dark fey were at both ends, waiting.
Lindsey crossed her arms at her waist and raised her hands slowly up like she had pistols in them.
“Say hello to my little friends,” she yelled out in imitation of Tony Montana from the movie Scarface.
Her pistol fingers shot out deadly bolts of lightning. The dark faeries dropped like flies. The lightning faerie put her back against the wall and continued shooting. She felled them and moved into one of the rooms, out a window.
To be outside would be better for battle. The house battered and destroyed enough already. Lindsey would end this here and now.
She let out a small groan of disappointment.
How, much more, of these fucks are there? She thought to herself.
They were little ants on an anthill. They were everywhere. It was so annoying!
She began to hum again. Her favorite song sprang upon her lips.
She will never turn her back on a friend.
She is always there to defend.
She is the one on whom we can depend.
She is the one named Sailor...
Lindsey made her move. Blades of lightning formed and sliced and cut down the faeries in screaming agony. She never paused in her singing. She yelled the words for the world to hear.
... Sailor Venus
... Sailor Mercury
... Sailor Mars
... Sailor Jupiter
With every word she sang, she killed a dark fey.
Secret powers.
All so new to her.
She is the one named Sailor Moon.
Lightning flashed and more bodies fell like flies the ground. Lindsey looked about for Lhiannan. Where had that Sidhe wench gotten to?
Now, to finish these Leanan bitches. Her eyes flashed as she finished the last verse for this game. This had become more of a hunt. They hunted her and the lightning faerie hunted them back. All Lindsey cared about at this moment was to finish singing this song.
Fighting evil by moonlight.
Winning love by daylight.
With her Sailor Scouts to help fight.
She is the one named Sailor Moon.
She is the one named Sailor Moon.
She is the one . . . Sailor Moon!
Bolts shattered through the frail bodies of the last Leanan Sidhe.
Now, to find…
A sharp pain went from her back out her abdomen. Lindsey gazed down and saw a blade protruding from her belly. She began to shake. A tug she felt as the blade had removed from her belly. She turned around and stared at the Dark Seductress, Lhiannan.
“My baby,” Lindsey said as bloody sputtered from her mouth.
Lhiannan blinked in surprise.
“What...” she began, but the lightning faerie fell to the ground.
Lindsey watched the look on the dark faerie’s face.
How silly she looks! Lindsey thought as she reached her hand upward. Everything seemed to slow down. Lhiannan was getting further away, even though she was hovering there.
She hit the ground in a sudden stop. The wind knocked out of her. Leaves scattered and taken by the breeze into the woods. Her vision blurred and darkened. Why were the clouds so dark when the moon was so bright?
A rumble sounded in the air. The clouds seemed to swirl. Lindsey watched in fascination.
A dark shape came out of the woods. It was a huge mass of shadows that came for the faerie. Hunger drove this monster. A thirst for faerie flesh.
Lhiannan flew down to the shadowy shape and hovered before it.
“Wait! She is mine,” the dark Sidhe tried to explain.
The shadowy mass back handed the dark faerie. She sailed through the air. When she hit a tree, she disappeared in a splash of dark mist.
The shadowy mass lumbered over to the lightning faerie. It reached down for her. Just as his hand was about to grab hold of her. A thunderous crack sounded, and a giant bolt of lightning struck Lindsey.
The shadowy mass roared in pain as his hand sizzled away to ash.
~
Lhiannan appeared and rolled on the ground covered in fallen Autumn leaves. The Leanan faerie picked twigs out of her hair. She sat there and took deep breaths.
Time to move on. Keep going. The dark fey faerie stood, then disappeared in a puff of black mist.
Reappeared further away, but not far enough. She disappeared again. This time when she reappeared lightning came from the sky. It was a large bolt of lightning. A continuous stream that lit up the night.
Lhiannan had never seen such power before. Then the explosion happened. The dark fey was miles away and felt the force of it. It knocked her down on her ass. She sat there stunned.
Was that the lightning faerie’s magic? If so. It scared the hell out of Lhiannan. She hoped the shadowy mass died in that blast. She prayed that it was dead.
The light in the distance still shone brightly. It was a beautifully remarkable sight.
~
Lindsey watched the lightning striking down toward her. It zigged and zagged in a spidery pattern. For her it moved ever so slowly. She followed it and reached out to touch the bolt. The clouds swirled and darkened. Fragments of flashing lights glowed within them.
It struck her. She arched her back and screamed.
The force of the lightning impacted the ground and it crumbled. A small crater formed. Lindsey’s body floated in the searing electrical light. It filled her. Moved through veins like it was the life magic needed. This was her very being. She was The Lightning Faerie. Sidhe of the magical Bolt of Life. Also, The Bolt of Death.
Energy crackled all over her body, through her wings.
She felt something. It was her wound. It closed. Sealed as if never there.
Her hands touched her abdomen. With her eyes closed she lost herself within. She searched and soon found what she was looking for.
There!
A heartbeat felt. Life bloomed inside. Her baby. Devon’s baby was unharmed. Alive.
It is a baby girl!
Lindsey hugged herself. She would love this child. Forever!
Her eyes opened. No longer did she have normal eyes. No pupils. No irises. Just that of lightning energy.
She hovered high above the trees now. Wings grew larger and expanded. She grew, in size to that of a human. Blue hair streaked with silver strains, bellowed wildly in the breeze created by magic.
Lindsey gazed down at the shadowy mass. Its hulking figure had grown. The mass had eaten the bodies of the dark fey. This is where it got its power.
A gasp escaped the lightning faerie. She knew what this creature truly was. A Shadow Reaver. An eater of souls and flesh. It consumed magic energy of others. This monster was a destroyer. She knew the legends about this thing. It was the reason, why entire landscapes became barren and lifeless.
Lindsey would put a stop to this, now.
As, she gazed at the Shadow Reaver bodies of the dark fey could be, seen inside. It was clear as day.
Then she saw him. He curled up into a fetal position. Her eyes widened.
“Devon!” Lindsey screamed.
Her outburst ignited static electricity. The lightning bubble that enveloped her grew. A thunderous sound boomed.
She unleashed tendrils of lightning blasts at the Shadow Reaver. At first the bolts only zapped the surface of the shadowy mass. Then they started to dig in.
The Shadow Reaver roared in rage. It sent tendrils of its own toward the faerie. Those tendrils dispersed as the lighting faerie cut them away.
Her bolts of lightning dug deeper. The Shadow Reaver roared in agony. It fought back with its shadowy darkness.
Devon writhed inside the shadowy mass as dark tendrils tried to enter within his body. A silent scream tried to escape his lungs.
“I want my Hu-man,” Lindsey screamed like thunder. She pushed all her power toward the Shadow Reaver.
A loud roar of thunder sounded as her lightning struck the shadowy mass. Electricity enveloped and penetrated throughout it.
A rage filled the lightning faerie. She put all her fury into her magic. Her power ate away at the shadowy mass. There was a last roar of anger as it disappeared for the last time. An explosive force destroyed the surrounding area. Trees disintegrated. There was nothing but a barren landscape. The Shadow Reaver was dead.
Lindsey hovered there for a moment. Deep breaths taken to calmed herself. A single tear slid down her cheek.
She gazed down and saw a lone nude figure curled in the crater.
“Devon,” she yelled and flew down.
Landing beside him she crouched down and tentatively placed her hand on his shoulder. At first, there was doubt that he was real. She touched flesh. He was real after, all. She shook him and he groaned in pain. His eyes fluttered open and gazed at his wife in all her faerie glory.
“You are the most beautiful woman ever,” his voice rasped dryly. He tried to lick his cracked lips.
The faerie’s hands began to glow, and the electric light surrounded him and healed all wounds. He felt better but tired.
Lindsey cradle him to her. Held him close.
“I will never leave you again, my love,” she whispered.
She kissed his lips and placed his hand upon her belly.
“I have a surprise for you.”
Lightning faeries rule!
