The Cure
War. What is it good for? Nothing, but when it is necessary to defend one's self. A battle rages as an invading force attack's innocent citizens. Soldiers defend against them. Who shall win?
The Cure
They rushed through the tubular tunnels to escape. They were under attack by foreign purple invaders. They would attach themselves to the escaping red citizens and turn them into an invader. There seemed to be no escape in sight. The invaders were everywhere, all consuming. The red citizens had no means of defence nor of a way to fight back. The poor citizens stood no chance against the invaders, lambs led to the slaughter. As the red citizen population dwindled, the purple invader forces grew, in size and strength. The invaders spread through the tubular tunnels, attacked everything that happened to be in their wake. The citizens tried their best to escape, but it was all in vein, they were not fast enough nor equipped enough to survive the struggle. One by one, then in small groups until large masses were overrun by invaders. The arteries were clogged with the purple invaders. They amassed and tumbled over one another to get at the citizens. All hope was at a loss. It was a panic filled world of chaos. Destruction and sickness reigned here. This purple plague was a rampage with no end. Time was running out and soon there would be no citizens left.
Then out of nowhere! There was resistance! It was just a handful at first. They were crushed by the overwhelming numbers of the invaders. Then there were soon more. White soldiers! They fought for the red citizens, to protect them from the oncoming horde. The invaders cut them down also, but not without taking losses. More white soldiers came and fought. Then more and more soldiers would arrive. The battle began to become heated. The purple invaders started to hit a line that had become hard to breach. It had become extremely difficult to fight their way through as the white soldier numbers increased. The soldiers were organized and fought as a unit. In the beginning the soldiers were dealt heavy losses, but as they too amassed, they no longer suffered any more casualties. The enemy invaders could no more add to their forces, and they began to diminish. The purple invaders invasion began to slow to a crawl. The tubular tunnels were totally blocked, and the invaders could not break through. The fighting continued, neither side willing to give up. As it were, no more red citizens lives were taken. They were at last protected and escaped.
As the battle escalated, the white soldiers began to push the purple invaders back. It was ever so slow at first. But soon it became a faster and faster withdrawal on the invaders part. Their mass forces were shattered and scattered. The soldiers’ speed was faster now. They destroyed the invasion force. The soldiers chased the broken invader ranks and slaughtered them to the last. Not a single purple invader survived whatsoever. The white soldiers were victorious, and the red citizens were safe from harm!

“Doctor, how is she doing?” The Mother asked full of concern as a worried mother should be.
“Her fever has broken. The worst has passed. I expect she will make a full recovery in a few days,” the Doctor said with sincerity.
“Oh, thank you Doctor,” the Father spoke in a relieved tone and shook the Doctor’s hand in gratitude. (11/13/19)
