THE NEW DAY’S MIST

Off into the new days mist he runs. Panic grips him tightly. Adrenaline pumps through his veins rapidly. He is blinded by fear. It clutches at him and drives him to near madness. The horror he has witnessed made him bolt like a rabbit into the mist filled woods, an image that can never be erased. It is difficult to see in this vile mist that clings to everything it touches.

He then trips over a log and falls face first in the dirt and leaves. The musky autumn leaves stick to him and he quickly brushes them away as he stands back up to continue running again. He had to get away from… it.

He hears the snapping of twigs in the distance behind him. His heart jolts sending another burst of adrenaline through him. It stalks him he is sure of it. He pushes himself harder to run faster. He pants, breathing hard and gulps air, he really doesn’t know how much longer he can keep running like this.

There are growling sounds, closer this time. This spooks him further. At one point he hears movement to his right. He looks but nothing moves in that direction. Later he then hears movement to his left a crashing of leaves and branches. He risks a glance but again nothing presents itself there. Fear worms its way further into his very core. Snarls could be heard, and they sound so awfully close this time. His muscles ache to no end. He is losing hope as to how and if he would ever outrun this monster. No matter what he must survive. He must find a way out of this predicament.

The trampling sounds are even closer than before, so close they seem to be right behind him. He resists the urge to turn and look. He felt hot breath on the back of his neck. Something wet like a tongue licks him. Chills spike up and down his spine. He suddenly finds himself tumbling down a valley slope. On his way down his shoulder went numb as it slammed into a rock. When he hit the bottom of the ravine the wind is knocked from him to the point of almost passing out. When the dizziness passes, and he can draw in more regular breaths. He became accurately aware of his pains. His shoulder throbbed and is stiff, he can barely move it. There is scrapes and scratches all over him. He even had to pull a twig from his ass. He grunted as he removes it. He staggers slowly to his feet, using a tree as a crutch.

A howl rose abruptly atop the ravine hill side. He looks up frightened eyed. A sigh of annoyance escapes him. He turns his aching body and made a hobbled run for it. He hears the ever-closing sounds of broken brambles thundering nearer. The chase went on. He knew it’s only a matter of time till the beast caught him. Still, he presses on, he will never give up. He grits his pain back as much as he can. Tears blur his eyes. He wipes them away with the back of his filthy bloodied arm.

He felt again a deep growling breath upon him. He turns slowly to face his beastly fear. Icey blue eyes stare into his. They are angry. The body stands upright a full head taller than he, covered in silver fur which seem to glow in the new days mist. Full strong breasts jutted out. Her claws unfurled and in a blurring motion as he is back handed. She knocks him through the air, and he lands hard on the ground. Just when he thinks his body can’t hurt anymore, more pain jolts in him like thousands of needles. She then leaps upon him and tears away his clothes until there is nothing but shredded fabric. She presses her nude body into his, rubbing herself on him. He whimpers in fright and shakes like a scared animal. He is, in some gross obscene way, desiring this primal creature. Her nose comes near and sniffs him. She then speaks in a snarling famine voice.

“You didn’t really believe you could get away from me that easily did you my sweet?” she asks lustfully. Her wolfen features grin down. Her claws grip and dig into his arms. Blood drips to the dirt. He screams in agony. His cries fill the once silent woods, which in turn startle the wildlife into panicked action.

She licked his chin then kisses his mouth softly. She presses against him even harder.

“Oh, baby!” she breathed, “We shall be together for all the future hunts my mate. You will become a wolf this day.” She bites into his shoulder, the deed done. (09/29/18)
