Vampire Therapy

Fantasy Paranormal Science Fiction
6 min read

A young vampire comes to grips with his new life. Will he do anything to protect it?

I stood before Doctor Stevenson, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew what he would say and didn't want to hear it. "You need it to survive, Simon, and it doesn't have to be human," he said, convincing me to drink blood.
I threw my hands up in frustration. "No, I don't want to suck blood, Doctor Stevenson!" I exclaimed. "I didn't ask for this."
He looked at me with a mix of sympathy and frustration. "Few seldom do," he said, his voice softening. "But you have to accept that this is your reality now."
I knew he was right, but it didn't make swallowing any easier. I had never wanted this life, but it had been forced upon me. My master had been killed, and I had been turned against my will.
"I know, but it's just so hard," I replied, my voice shaking. "I don't want to hurt anyone."
Doctor Stevenson sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I understand, Simon. But you have to find a way to live with it. There are alternatives, and I can help you find them."
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I knew that I had to face the reality of my situation. "Okay, I'll try," I said reluctantly.
Doctor Stevenson gave me a small smile. "That's all I can ask for," he said.
I stood up, ready to bolt for the door. I didn't want to be here anymore but I knew I had to face my new life head-on.

I felt lost and alone as I left Doctor Stevenson's office. I didn't know where to go or what to do. My mind was racing with thoughts of my past life and how things had changed so quickly.
I wandered the streets aimlessly, trying to clear my head. But nothing seemed to work. I felt like a prisoner in my body, with no way out. I couldn't return to my old life but I didn't know how to move forward.
I stumbled upon a park and sat down on a bench. I closed my eyes, trying to find some peace. But it was hard to ignore the hunger gnawing at my stomach. I hadn't drunk any blood since I had been turned, and I could feel the physical effects of not feeding.
As I sat there, lost in thought, I heard footsteps approaching. I opened my eyes to see a group of vampires walking toward me. They looked at me curiously, and I could feel their eyes on me.
"Are you okay?" one asked, breaking the silence.
I shook my head. "No, I'm not," I replied honestly.
They sat down on the bench next to me, introducing themselves. They told me they had been in the same situation as me and had found a way to live without killing humans.
"We drink animal blood," one of them said. "It's not ideal, but it's better than the alternative."
I listened to them talk, feeling a glimmer of hope. Maybe there was a way for me to live without hurting anyone, and I could find a way to adapt to this new life.
They offered to take me in and show me the ropes. I was hesitant at first, but eventually, I agreed. I didn't have anything else to lose.
As we walked away from the park, I felt a sense of relief. Maybe I had found a new family, and perhaps I had found a way to move forward.

The vampires took me to their hideout, which was located in an abandoned building on the outskirts of town. It was dimly lit and filled with makeshift furniture, and I felt like I was in a different world that I didn't fully understand yet.
They showed me around, introducing me to everyone. About a dozen vampires lived there, all with unique stories. Some had been turned willingly, while others were forced like me.
They were all friendly and welcoming, and I felt like I had found a new home. They taught me how to control my hunger and how to hunt for animal blood. It wasn't easy, but it was much better than the alternative.
As the days went by, I started to feel like I belonged. I made friends and started to learn more about my new life. I even enjoyed some of the perks, like enhanced senses and strength.
One day, the leader of the group called a meeting. He stood at the front of the room, looking at us with a severe expression.
"I have some news," he said, his voice grave. "There have been reports of a group of rogue vampires attacking humans. We need to be careful and stay hidden."
Everyone in the room looked worried, and I felt a twinge of fear in my stomach. I didn't want to be associated with those kinds of vampires. I wanted to live my life without hurting anyone.
The leader looked at me, sensing my unease. "Simon, you're new here, but we must stick together. We're all in this together."
I nodded, feeling a sense of loyalty to this group. I knew they were the only ones who understood what I was going through; they were my family now.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. I started to feel more comfortable in my new life and even began to plan for the future. I wanted to learn more about my powers and how to use them for good.
One day, I was walking through the park when I heard a scream. I looked around, trying to find the source of the noise. Then I saw them. A group of humans was being attacked by a rogue vampire.
Without thinking, I ran towards them. I didn't want to hurt anyone, but I couldn't let innocent people get hurt. I had to do something.
I tackled the rogue vampire, feeling a surge of adrenaline. It was the first time I used my strength for something good. The rogue vampire fought back, but I was stronger. Eventually, I overpowered and pinned him to the ground before driving a stake through his heart. He turned into dust, and the wind blew him away.
The humans looked at me with fear and confusion. I could see the terror in their eyes. But then something strange happened. They started to thank me and told me I was a hero and had saved their lives.
As I walked away from the park, feeling proud of myself for the first time in a long time, I realized something. I had found my place in this world and was a vampire, but I didn't have to be a monster. I could be a hero. And that's exactly what I was going to be.
