Betrayed
Remi’s life had been anything but normal. It was the life she’d made for herself that’d helped her heal from the traumatic last few years of her life.
People had betrayed Remi for far too long. People who’d claimed to be friends. People that’d let their actions speak far louder than anything they’d ever see. Her relatives included. She’d gone no contact with nearly everyone she’d grown up with. She would rather be alone than let people stay in her life that would never love her for who she is. She’d begun letting her actions speak for her. Far more than she’d ever done before. She’d spent far too much time being afraid of what others would think or say. She’d begun living her life her way. Happily.
She’d moved to Miami Beach after leaving everything behind in the town she’d grown up in. Jackson had made comments he shouldn’t have made. Online and around her. It caused people to wonder if he was mentally stable. Something Remi had been saying for a few years. People had finally begun believing her after arguments others had with him. She’d moved in with a friend she’d made during the year she’d lived in South Florida. Remi went no contact with Quinn three months after moving in with her. Quinn had let her Narcissistic traits run wild. Remi had confronted Quinn before leaving. She’d pushed back, called her a Narcissist, and left.
Cassidy had been the second Narcissist Remi had encountered. A mutual friend Quinn had made during her travels. He had offered her a new life in rural New York. A decision Remi regretted as well. She’d seen the same pattern Quinn had. The comments that came at first. She’d called him out immediately. He tried turning the tables on her. She wasn’t having it and left. She took the next train back down to Ft. Lauderdale. She didn’t care that she was homeless. With two thousand dollars. She went to all the resources she knew of that would be able to help her.
Her severe trust issues had gotten worse. She kept to herself. She’d begun making money from pamphlets she sold. She’d made a variety of them specifically for tourists for local businesses. It hadn’t taken long before she’d begun making money from them. It’d helped her get into a small studio. She’d been content with that. She didn’t need much. She didn’t have much at this point. Jackson had been in an Assisted Living Facility. A domino effect that happened to him three months after she left.
She’d moved into a condo near the beach. She’d saved more than enough for a down payment. She’d become a Speaker as time went on. She’d become an openly Lesbian woman living her life far happier than she’d ever thought possible. Her life had finally gotten better. She hadn’t thought it would ever be possible. Until she was living it. She continued making new pamphlets. Pamphlets specific to each area. It was Miami Beach that’d done far better than she’d thought. She went home for three days after Jackson’s death. People were shocked she came back to deal with everything. Her grandparents belongings were amongst the few things she’d come back for aside from burying Jackson. To also show just how much happier she was.
