Bungalow
He’d found the bungalow while wandering around the area. He’d signed a three month lease. He’d fallen in love with the area and signed a one year lease. Knowing he’d be far happier than before
Oliver had begun renting a bungalow near the beach in California. He’d fallen in love with the area during his travels around California. He’d been a Freelance Marketer for the last two years. He’d been able to travel around the entire time. He’d begun working from place to place over time. His connections grew during that time. He’d begun working on a book about his travels when he wasn’t freelancing. He was nearly done with the memoir he’d been working on about his life. His life had been far different than most after all. A life that often went against the grain.
He’d taken time working on his memoir. He knew it would do well after he published it. He wasn’t sure if he’d self publish or go through a publishing company. He already had a marketing plan for it either way. He’d done everything else needed before working on the memoir itself. The bungalow was a block away from the beach. The Loft had an ocean view. He’d spent his time there finishing his memoir. He’d lose track of time far too often. A day and a half without sleep while working on the last chapter of the memoir being the more recent occurrence.
He’d chosen a publishing company to publish his memoir. He wasn’t sure if it would get accepted. He knew he’d self publish if it got rejected. He’d done extensive planning in the event he self published. He’d planned a similar path in the event it got accepted by the publishing company he’d sent it to. Three weeks went by before he got his answer. Accepted. He happily signed everything before he took some time to wander around the area he was living in. He’d focused on his memoir and planning out his book about his travels to wander around.
He’d fallen in love with the area even more after wandering around. He’d accepted a job as a Freelance Writer for one of the nearby newspapers. A column about the life he had. He felt like Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. His columns were about the various experiences he had throughout his life. Growing up in a rural Floridian town being where he started. He’d moved through various traumatic experiences after a while. How he’d used Insight Therapy to help himself through everything. He’d decided to stay in the bungalow and in the area long term. It was close enough to Malibu that he could go there whenever he wanted.
His life had gotten better in the time since he moved to the Gramont area. He’d become far happier in the short time since he’d signed the lease committing him to living there for the next year. He was looking forward to it. It was a new beginning for him. He’d started going to therapy. He’d known he needed to go for a while. He hadn’t been able to afford it past a few sessions. He’d spent his time traveling California again instead of saving for therapy. Traveling had become his therapy. In his eyes anyway.
He’d saved enough for the full series of therapy sessions he knew he’d needed. The amount the Therapist recommended anyway. His therapy sessions revealed just how deep the trauma he’d experienced went. Trauma he’d not yet processed. Not fully anyway. He’d seen everything far differently because of the different set of eyes looking at what he’d been through. He’d found himself feeling peaceful after the last session. At peace with the past and looking forward to what the future held.
That is the end of Bungalow. Thanks for reading.
