GUARDIANS

INT. TIMOTHY’S APARTMENT
Timothy is cooking Ackee and toast, listening to jazz music. Timothy is only listening to jazz and classical music since the energy beings have taken control of earth. An alert blasts on Timothy’s mobile device with instructions. Timothy can hear the alert going off on his neighbor’s devices.

Instructions

Go outside and stand. Wait for one of the Guardians to assess you. When a Guardian approaches you, stand still and look straight ahead.

Timothy turns the stove off, washes his hands, and walks outside. Timothy does not see the neighbors from his building, but other people are standing outside. The Guardians descend upon the block in the shape of balls of light, then drifts toward individual people. The Guardians touch people at the center of the tops of their heads. Timothy watches as people lose consciousness. The Guardians envelop the fallen humans, then quickly lift them toward spacecrafts that have been hovering since the Guardians arrived. A Guardian floats to Timothy, and he straightens his body. The Guardian lands on Timothy’s head. Timothy feels like fainting at first, then begins to see darkness of space. Timothy sees light slowly gain brightness and grow into a planet of light, of energy. Timothy can sense the consciousness of the energy planet begin. The Guardians stop and remain frozen on Timothy’s block. The people from Timothy’s building are peeking through their curtains and shades. Timothy can see pieces of the energy planet detach and race across the cosmos. Guardians are leaving and returning to the energy planet, then a spacecraft like the ones surrounding the earth appear. Timothy can see the earth from the Guardians’ point of view. Large bursts of red energy blasts from earth like solar flares from earth’s sun. It is pure violence. The Guardian detaches from Timothy’s head, after they had shared everything about the existence of each other, and everything begins to move again. The Guardian communicates with Timothy mind to mind.

Guardian

Human Timothy where are you from?

Timothy

  I am from this planet as far as I know, but I always felt different.

Guardian

You are like the other humans, yet we sense a difference in you.

Timothy

We evolved over time, unlike you. Some of us continue our evolution.

Guardians

We have found very few like you here. What happened to your kind?

Timothy

We were driven out of power and to the bottom of the social orders and the masses were driven insane.

Guardian

We have watched the odd hierarchy of your world for some time.

Timothy

Why didn’t you destroy us?

Guardian

Some on the council wanted to, but that is not our way. We are here to decide if your kind is worth further existence.

Timothy

So, it’s just a matter of time.

Guardian

How would you resolve the problem?

Timothy

I would leave the ones who are worthy for a period, then assess us again, but I don’t have anything like the wisdom of your kind or the council.

Guardian

Maybe you are more valuable than you know.

Timothy

We could be, if we were one collective like your kind.

The Guardian sped up to its spacecrafts, and left Timothy standing there. Other members of the Guardian went through the windows of Timothy’s building and took his neighbors away.
