Mystery Paranormal
3 min read

Avery had found the shack deep in the woods. She had taken a walk knowing it was hidden away somewhere. She’d felt drawn to it knowing she was meant to help in some way.

Avery had studied the case over the last few years. She’d used her investigative skills that led to theories. Theories nobody considered. Or listened to. She was grasping at straws according to everyone. She’d things nobody else had. Things that could help solve the case. She’d packed what she could and left to find the shack. She knew she’d find the shack at some point. She knew she’d come back to town with answers.

She’d found the abandoned shack four hours later. She’d followed the clues from the file. A storm rolled in minutes after she’d set her things down by the door. She knew she was stuck there for the next few hours. If not overnight. She didn’t care either way. She was going to figure everything out in the meantime. She wanted to solve the case while she was there. She had her doubts. There wasn’t much to go on based on the file. She reminded herself of what she’d seen. She reminded herself of just how capable she was of solving the case.

She’d felt the darker spirit, possibly demonic spirit before she’d even gotten to the shack. She knew that likely had been the key factor behind the murder. Something the file hadn’t mentioned. Something nobody had told her either. It’d been conveniently left out. She’d come prepared for everything. A demonic entity included. She’d let it know it had no power over her. It wasn’t allowed to harm her.

Riley appeared three hours later. Avery had talked to her. She’d let Riley know it was safe to talk to her. No harm would come while talking to her. That she’d been an abuse victim as well. That she understood what she’d gone through. Riley hadn’t felt comfortable talking about if after appearing to Avery. She acknowledged the abuse and being a victim. That she harbored hate after being murdered. Nobody had gotten justice for her. She’d seen what happened when investigators arrived. That they’d believed the Murderer. That he’d killed her out of self defense. Nobody questioned anything after that. That they’d forgotten there’s two sides to every story.

Avery helped set Riley free. She’d written everything Riley said down. She told Riley she’d get justice for her. That she’d share everything with everyone that needed to know. She’d share her story with everyone else as well. She’d decided to stay after sharing everything with the authorities. The Murderer was taken into custody. He was sentenced to life in prison. He’d been killed in prison, in a similar manner Riley was, not long after being imprisoned. Justice from people who’d known about the case

Avery had fallen in love with the fact it being in the middle of nowhere. In a place where nobody find it. She’d felt at peace there. Despite everything that happened within its walls. She’d let Riley know she’d do right by her while living there. That she planned on living there until the end of her life. The garden she was going to built not far from the shack. That her plans to fix it would mean it was going to hold up to the elements far better than ever before. Riley went onto the afterlife free of the hate and pain she’d once felt.
