Leap Of Faith

Adventure Drama
3 min read

She’d taken a leap of faith after the argument with her dad. She’d reached out. She’d made friends. She was living the life she’d wanted to have.

Emery had left with a little over three thousand dollars after being kicked out. She’d had it out with Sawyer. He’d not been dealing with health issues he’d needed to deal with. She’d shamed him for downplaying everything on top of lying to everyone. She knew the truth was going to come out after she left. She knew everyone would see everything she’d been talking about. They weren’t around him like she was. They didn’t see what she did. She knew they would at some point though. Signs of him getting older and needing help were already starting to happen. It didn’t change the fact people hadn’t been listening to her for a while.

She’d lived in hostels for a month while searching for a job. She’d left her unlivable hours and wages job behind days before she left. She’d not told anyone anything until then. For good reason. She’d known there was a chance of multiple things happening if she said anything to anyone. She knew Max wouldn’t be that petty though. She hoped not anyway. She’d donated nearly everything months prior after an argument with Sawyer during his most recent hospital stay. She’d shamed him for not telling the Doctors everything they needed to know. The Doctors had done the same. He’d lied and downplayed everything. She’d made it clear she wasn’t going to help him with anything once he was released. It meant he was going to be in the hospital longer than he wanted to just to make sure he recovered the way he needed to. Something he wasn’t too happy about.

A job as a Dishwasher led to a small apartment a month after she moved to Miami Beach. She’d booked a room in an extended stay hotel after getting the job. She’d wanted to have her own space instead of being around people more than she wanted to. She’d decided that after an uncomfortable incident after a misunderstanding. The language barrier hadn’t helped. The Hostel hadn’t done anything. She’d checked out early on the day she was due to check out. She’d booked a room at the extended stay before leaving the Hostel. She was thankful it was her day off. She was able to have some time to herself after she checked in. She’d not done much after checking in. Other than reflecting on everything.

She’d gotten the help she’d needed after reaching out. She hadn’t been sure what to do. She’d told Presley everything the following day at work. He’d connected her to people he knew would help. People with resources that were able to help. They’d helped her pay the first few months rent on the studio she’d moved into. She’d gone to a community center Presley recommended she go to. A place where she met people in a similar situation she was in. People that understood what she was going through in some way. People who helped her through moments of doubt she had after moving into her apartment. People who kept reassuring her she was finally living the life she’d wanted. She’d made friends, went no contact with everyone back home, and began living a far better life.
