Life happened to him. He’d taken an opportunity after an argument with his dad. He’d become far happier in the time since he’d left home

Life hadn’t been so kind to Wyatt. He’d found himself unable to find or maintain a job after moving back home with his dad. Jude had married a woman he had no business marrying. Wyatt had protested from the start. People were mortified Jude hadn’t told Wyatt anything. Everyone had shamed him for it after Wyatt walked out of the surprise ceremony while at a yearly Christmas party they went to. Maddie’s death ten years prior had changed Wyatt far more than anyone ever knew. Wyatt had moved in with his Uncle after moving to South Florida. His lack of job experience and having Epilepsy didn’t help. Tensions were high after a while. His uncle subtly made it known he didn’t want Wyatt there anymore. Wyatt began spending more time in Miami Beach looking for a job. He’d sleep under trees or near a public bathroom the majority of the time. He’d found hiding spots as well.

He’d gotten a job as a Dishwasher in the six months before Jude asked if he wanted to move back home. It’d been nearly four years since the move. The two jobs he’d gotten prior to his Dishwashing job hadn’t lasted long. Both were retail jobs at the mall near his uncle’s house. He was told he wasn’t a good fit for the job. Even though scheduling conflicts would’ve prevented him from making the last bus back home. He’d begun working those shifts after it continued happening and would go to Miami Beach for the night. He’d sleep by one of the public restrooms and wake up in time to catch the first bus back to the mall where he’d catch one of the first buses back to his uncle's apartment. It ended up not mattering after a while though. He was still let go after bringing it up again.

The move back home was a sigh of relief. Until it was one thing after another after moving home. He’d been unable to get or maintain a job. He’d managed to get a job as a retail worker for a few years. He kept to himself, paid what he needed to pay and saved the rest. Tensions had risen between him and Jude. He knew there’d be an argument at some point. He knew he’d end up leaving at some point. He knew his sexuality would possibly be one of the things that became part of the argument. He’d also known any one of the ignorant comments Jude began making would likely be what caused an argument that ended his time back home.

He’d come out as Gay two years after moving home. He’d not once said anything to Jude about it. He’d never seen a need to. He had no intention of being in a relationship with anyone in town. He didn’t trust anyone. They’d flake on him when plans were made to meet up. Or they proved to be untrustworthy. It was always everything rolled into one though. People played games and wanted sex rather than a relationship.

Wyatt moved to Atlanta after a heated argument with Jude. He’d called out Jude for comments he’d made about various people  he loved who’d voted against the current President. They were going to believe what they were going to believe regardless of what he said. Jude had told him to get out. Wyatt packed the few things he kept after donating everything else and left two hours later. He quit his job the next day and left for Atlanta. He had enough for an extended stay hotel for two months hoping he’d be able to find a job in that time. He took a job opportunity as a Marketer for one of the high end restaurants days after moving to Atlanta. He moved into a spacious studio apartment three months later. He’d made far more than he thought he would in that time. He was openly Gay by then. He’d become far happier in that time knowing his life was only going to get better.
