Lilith

Adventure Mystery
5 min read

She’d been demonized in the Bible. People saw her differently as a result. She retreated into a secluded life. Until Shiloh found her in the Jordan Valley.

God had forsaken her. Banished her from The Garden. She walked to the Jordan Valley after leaving. Filled with Hate. She wanted nothing more than do get her revenge. She knew what lay ahead if she did so. She’d let herself sit within the hate that continued building within her through the years. Decades passed. She was forgotten about. For the most part. She knew she’d be demonized. She no longer cared. She’d built a small cottage on a hill. She’d made a garden of her own. One filled with all she’d need. Her life had become a quiet one.

Decades passed. She’d come to terms with everything. She’d relived everything every day. She went over what she could’ve done differently. What she could’ve said or done to help Adam, Eve, and God see her perspective. She’d wanted harmony after all. Not being divided by having a different perspective. It hadn’t seemed to matter to them. She’d realized just how right the serpent was. Her deviation from what was considered the norm was seen as a sin. As something unacceptable. Something that went against the grain far too much for their liking. She was better off living on her own.

The world had seemingly forgotten her over time. She lived for what seemed like an eternity. She longed for death. Something she feared my not come. That she’d been cursed to live forever for what she’d done. Different teachings had in fact demonized her. In one way or another. Shiloh felt alone in her beliefs toward Lilith and her story. She had seen Lilith’s perspective. She understood why Lilith did what she’d done. Shilohs Jewish heritage traced back to Jerusalem. She’d missed her chance to go on her birthright trip before turning twenty-five. She knew she’d go at some point. Her life hadn’t been the best. She’d often felt misunderstood. Much like Lilith.

“I know she’s there. Somewhere” Shiloh sighed
“HOW do you know though?” Ariel asked
“I can’t explain it. I just know. I’ve done the research. I’ve studied everything I possibly can. There’s no way she wasn’t JUST a story in the Bible. She had to be real” Shiloh explained
“Okay. I know you’ll enjoy your time there. Your grandmother would be so proud of you right now” Ariel smiled
“Yeah, I know. I wish she was here. She’ll be with me in spirit. Grandpa as well. She’s the one that sparked my interest. I’ll do Lilith justice” Ariel smiled back

Shiloh knew Lilith might have left something behind for someone to find at some point. Something that would tell her side of the story. Shiloh knew she’d find it somewhere in the Jordan Valley. It was getting there that seemed like an impossible task. Until an opportunity came her way that took her to Israel. And straight to Jordan Valley. Modern day had issues of its own. People fighting each other instead of communicating with each other. People who’d rather fight than live in peace and harmony.

Shiloh finding Lilith’s home was historic. Proof she was a real person. She’d left more than just a house behind. Seeds for others to use. Along with journals of her thoughts. One specifically about what happened. Her raw emotions of what happened in real time. Not to mention her life in the immediate aftermath. She’d obviously documented everything. She’d alerted Israeli Authorities as well. They credited her with finding everything. They let her decide what to do with the seeds while processing the journals. She’d given the seeds to the Jewish Temple. To harvest for the local population to eat.

“We owe you a debt of gratitude” Prime Minister Eli smiled
“Thank you. I appreciate it” Shiloh responded
“What can we do to-” he began
“Citizenship. That’s all I’d like. To become a Citizen. To be able to come back and forth when I want and can” Shiloh interjected
“Consider it done. We’ll have everything settled by the time you leave in a few days” he answered
“Thank you. I’ll fill anything out you need me to” Shiloh said
“No need. There’s a way around that. Enjoy the rest of your time here” he replied
“I will” Shiloh smiled back

It still didn’t feel real to Shiloh. She realized that it could’ve been divine intervention, from Lilith herself, guiding her to her provincial home. To reveal her home and story. The Israeli Government let Shiloh have Lilith’s house after they were finished with their investigations. Another thank you from them for bringing justice for Lilith. For uncovering the truth about her. Shiloh had bought clothing she planned on leaving there for whenever she came to visit. She considered moving there full time several months after leaving Israel. Nobody was surprise. Ariel included. He’d been Shiloh’s best friend for years after all. He knew there was a high chance Shiloh would go to Israel and never look back. He’d seen the peace Shiloh finally had. Peace she’d live with, happily, in Israel.

That is the end of Lilith. Thanks for reading.
