Lost in California
Aunjanue had been wandering around California for a month. She’d considered moving to California. Her decision not to came from the prices being far too high even for her
Aunjanue had been roaming around Southern California for the last two weeks. She’d been aimlessly wandering. Her life as a Freelance Proofreader meant she was able to roam the U.S. if she chose to. She’d left nearly everything behind when she left Florida. She’d left a toxic living situation. She’d already been No Contact with the relatives that lived in the same town as her. They’d let their actions speak for them. She’d left a family meeting where they’d confronted her about recent comments. It had been her response to what they’d said that left them speechless. She’d shamed them for not ever loving her. For their lack of being family. How they’d failed her for the last twenty three years since her mother’s death. She’d known she was the Black Sheep. Their obligational love wasn’t love at all. She wasn’t going to let them stay in her life when they never once loved her anyway.
She’d left friends who’d let their actions speak. People who’d never really been her friends to begin with. She’d become “too confrontational” in their eyes. The only thing she’d done was call people out when they made transphobic comments. She’d shamed a few of them after they’d claimed to be accepting of Trans people. The last Social Media post she made was a long one. She’d shamed everyone. She mentioned keeping in touch with the ones she knew were real friends. People who were for everyone having basic Human Rights. The last paragraph of her post was asking why people voted for the current President. Someone who’d been taking away basic Human Rights. Why would they support someone who was taking Healthcare for those who needed it.
She stopped for the night in Inverness, California. She’d fallen in love with the small town. She stayed in a quaint bungalow near the ocean. She’d slept with the windows open. The overcast evening had turned into a rainy night. She’d fallen asleep listening to the rain. She’d smelled the sea air along with the smell of the rain she’d grown up loving. She’d seen why people loved living there. It was a simple life. The kind of life she wouldn’t mind having. She’d moved on with her tour of California. Her time in California was seemingly coming to an end. Her decision to stay in California came from wanting a more simple life in a place like Inverness, California. She’d considered moving there instead of Malibu.
She’d made the decision to move to Colorado instead of California. She’d known there was a slim chance of being able to realistically live in California. It was no secret everything was unrealistically high. Even with a salary like hers she wasn’t going to survive. Even if she’d moved to Inverness, California. She’d liked Colorado a little better than California though. It was the next state on her list to travel around anyway. It was where to settle down that was the question. One that would soon be answered soon enough
That is the end of Lost in California . Thanks for reading.
