Loving himself

He’d been living in Atlanta as an openly Trans Man. He’d become far happier than before. It was walking away from the toxic environment that’d been the best decision he’d made

Charlie had been living in a highly religious area. A close minded area with people who’d never practice what they preach. People too close minded and ignorant to ever do so. People who’d let their actions speak for them. He’d been an openly Trans Man for the last two years. His dad had been uncomfortable with it. He’d become distant after Charlie came out. Charlie no longer cared. He’d known Adam was never going to love him for who he is. Addie would’ve divorced him if she were alive. She’d reminded herself of things she’d said prior to her death.

He’d cut contact with his relatives after a confrontational argument. He’d shamed them. He’d told him everything they needed to hear. He’d already been low contact with them. His decision to go fully no contact after the argument was the best decision he’d made. Not once had they ever loved him for who he is. He’d been far happier than he’d ever been before. He hated living with Adam. He knew it wouldn’t be for much longer though. He’d saved money Adam didn’t think he had. Money Charlie had saved from odd jobs he’d done. Artwork he’d sold for decent money.

A job opportunity he’d taken in Atlanta was the best decision he’d made. He’d finally left the town, and people that’d never love him for who he is. He’d booked a room at an extended stay hotel until he was able to find an apartment. He’d saved enough for a few months. He hoped to have enough from the next few paychecks to get an apartment. He’d kept his eye on one he’d seen he wanted to move into. He’d even let the Realtors know his situation. They’d told him they’d save the apartment he wanted to move into. He understood it wouldn't be for very long. It was long enough to give him hope that he’d be able to move in.

He’d become an openly Trans Man in the short time he was in Atlanta. He’d been accepted for the person he was. He wanted nothing more than to finally have insurance and be able to have Top Surgery. He wasn’t so sure that would happen. He knew that would be a while. He was okay with that. He knew the process to even get a date would take a while anyway. It gave him time to socially transition while in Atlanta.

He’d become far happier in the short time he’d been living there. He’d grown as a person in that time. He’d worked through the trauma he’d experienced. He’d worked through the brainwashed beliefs he’d had. He’d moved into the Loft he had his eye on. He’d not been so sure he’d be able to get it. He’d gotten a few days prior to them renting it to someone else. He’d moved what little he had into the Loft. He’d made an entire weekend of it. He’d spent that Sunday night unpacking the last of his belongings. He’d spent all of Saturday moving the furniture he’d bought into the Loft  before unpacking everything else. He began Monday morning with breakfast and coffee in his Loft before heading off to work.
