My Heart

Life would always need balance and as the world came to be, so did two beings unlike any other. The gods gathered around as they looked at the ever growing world that is Earth. They knew something had to be done as chaos started to rain down on not only Earth but on other planets, in other galaxies. It was then that they decided there needed to be a yin and a yang for all inhabited planets. 

They created what is known to be the realms of heaven and hell. They thought it would be enough, yet balance still ceased to exist. It wasn't until the god Hornos saw a chrysalis pearl hanging from a tree in their realm, that he knew they needed something to ground the good and evil of nature. The forms would never truly be able to be in each others energies.  

He used his abilities to form another god that he named Arania as it grew. She would be born of Yin energy, while she may appear to be cold and dark, she is meant to keep the balance of good. He then sent news to the god Reecher to form another being. He chooses to form a god with the oldest fossilized rock that lain buried in the depths of lava on their most sacred mountain. 

The god of yang shall be named Ditris and while he will be known to be of brightness, passion and growth, he is meant to keep the balance of evil. The gods knew as soon as they developed into living beings, that they'd have to put them on earth. It took centuries but as they grew, so did their energy as it penetrates the veil amongst humans.

The gods created others like Arania and Ditris for other planets, yet the two of them were the last to form and be cast down to a planet.
It was in the 1st century BC that the gods tossed them down and they began their journey. It wasn't something they were told but a foresight and an instinct to either protect or destroy the human race.

The gods never did make them aware of one another and 500 years later is when they get a glimpse of the other side. It wasn't like a fairy tale as Arania saw the black coat of a man who emanated darkness. She watched him fade away as he walked through the bodies of a war most treacherous. 

It will be many years later, in the 21st century that they will see each other. The gods never did plan for them to find one another as each of their destinies is charted for a different path through life. They watched and the grew intrigued when they almost met the first time, yet what will happen if they see one another. The gods couldn't imagine such a catastrophe, yet they saw the loneliness in the two beings they created who are unlike any other but how do they fix such a problem?

Arania-

It's been a few thousand years now and I've yet to understand why I'm here. I control all things in nature, to harness the light. I watch over death, nature and life. It's still unclear why I was never given another task. I've seen the human species for what they are and uncontrollable and temperamental is a few words to describe them. I could also fit them into categories such as cruel, foul and despicable. 

They were given such a beautiful planet and yet many of them seek to destroy it. I assume that's why the gods created me, to save them from themselves. I run my hand over daffodils as spring has come once again. I look from them, to a couple waking down the street. They cling to each other and I advert my eyes to give them privacy.

I convince myself of this notion yet I knew the real reason is my envy. I've never fallen in love, yet I seen it all the time. The buds of romance, awkwardness and fear of the other not loving you in return. I also saw a lot of pain, separation and desperation to find it again once it fades into comfort and isn't exhilarating as it was before. 

The man from many years ago surfaces in my mind. He wasn't someone I ever met, yet the human was peculiar in his black cloak that seemed to be spotless of blood. He walked away as if the battle was an every day occurrence to him, yet I only saw the devastation of human life being wasted. 

I'm not sure why I think about him sometimes, it's not as if he'd be alive today. I then see a mission for myself as I stumble upon a business man about to place a bet, to gamble most of his money away as he always does. I wave my hand over my body and make myself disappear as I approach him. "Don't." I whisper into his ear and the man he's about to give his money to, reaches out as the man tucks it back into his suit pocket. 

"I change my mind." "You can't just-" "I should get home now." The man walks away and I smile as I see a picture of his family play before me. I see the change in his life that will happen now. I see the better future for all life I save, even plant life. It's easier to deal with plants though as they usually only need nutrients such as water. 

I smile solemnly as darkness beckons me again. I usually only get to feel the euphoria of helping sustain life for a few minutes before my own nature rears it's head. I never liked the cold darkness that seeps into my every pour. I'd say it even wraps around my soul but whenever have I had one?

I heal a few flowers that wilted and feel the light calling for me as a veil of darkness dissipates.
