The Twilit School Zone
An introduction to Tiki the sock monkey (see 'Tiki on Personification' on YouTube.
THE TWILIT SCHOOL ZONE
Narrator: A sleepy little town in a sleepy little state. There was a grumpy old man and an evil sock monkey. How evil that monkey was, we will soon see, right here, on the Twilit School Zone.
Scene opens
Narrator: He is an ordinary grumpy old man, with a very important job. His job, was keeping children safe, for there was a blue playground. A bridge, on the blue playground, had a hole in the middle of it. This grumpy old man's job was to stand under said bridge, with his head in the hole. The grumpy old man was very proud of his job, keeping the children safe.
Why he was grumpy, is a mystery.
Suddenly, the grumpy old man sees the sock monkey, and he knows that she's the cause of all his grumpiness. It must be, it had to be, the evil little monkey. Every day he's doing his wonderful job, filling a hole in the bridge with his head, keeping children safe, and there's the monkey, playing on the monkey bars.
Ironic.
Grumpy old man: Hey, monkey! Yes, you! What's your name? Chee Chee? (oof) Me Me? Ook Ook? (Umph)
Narrator: The sounds you hear, the oof, umph, and the yowzee (there was no yowzee? Odd...), was the children, stepping on his head, being kept safe.
Evil monkey: It's Tiki, Mr. grumpy old man. How can I help you?
G.o.m.: I need you to (yowzee) leave. You are making me (oomf) grumpy.
Narrator: The evil monkey looked at the grumpy old man, at the safe children trampling his scalp, and scratched herself behind the ears.
E. M.: Um, Mr. grumpy old man, are you sure I'm the reason you are grumpy?
G.o.m.: Of course I'm (oof) sure. What (eemf) else could it be? (imf)
Narrator: Well, the evil monkey didn't want to be the cause of the grumpy old man's grumpiness, for she was a good evil monkey, so she went away, her head and shoulders slumped. Slumped, because good evil monkeys like monkey bars.
The scene changes to the next recess. The grumpy old man stood in his spot, keeping kids safe. And wishing the girls wouldn't wear heels, and the boys wouldn't wear their football cleats.
Yes, as you might guess, the grumpy old man was still grumpy. He looked around but could see no evil monkey.
Why he was grumpy was a mystery.
The good evil monkey peeked around a corner, looking at the grumpy old man. He was still grumpy.
E.m.: Grumpy old man! Why are you still grumpy?
G.o.m.: I don't know, evil monkey. (eemf) It's a mystery. (gaff) I could maybe solve it, but I can't solve mysteries unless I take a walk. (yowzee) But if I take a walk, the children won't be safe. (oomf) It's a conundrum, you whippersnapper evil monkey. What am I to do? (eek)
Narrator: The good evil monkey took thought. She really wanted to help.
scene change
G.o.m.: Well, evil whippersnapper monkey, I've walked around the block three times, but I haven't solved the mystery. I won't stop walking until I do, though. I feel better now, walking and mystery solving. Thank you, evil monkey.
E.m.: (oomf) Glad to (eek) hear it, grumpy old (yowzee) man. (ack) Take your (owowow) time.
Narrator: The grumpy old man wasn't grumpy anymore, but the good evil monkey started getting grumpy.
Life is a mystery, here on the Twilit School Zone.
