Trip To Colorado
She’d found her people in Colorado. She’d had the time of her life during her trip. It hadn’t felt real the entire time. It’d been the trip that convinced her it was the right decision. For her self
She’d been looking forward to the trip for a while. It’d been far too long since she’d seen Addie. Reagan hadn’t been able to take a trip for a while. She’d not been able to have any time to herself with everything she’d had going on. She’d been trying to survive. Setbacks she’d experienced prevented her from being able to save anything after the bare essentials. Savings that were drained because of life happening. A leap of faith had changed everything though. She’d managed to bring in some extra income by using her Marketing skills to bring in more business.
Addie had lived in Colorado for the last six years. She’d left the toxic home life that’d taken its toll on her Mental Health. She’d left to preserve the little sanity she had left at the time. She’d healed the trauma she’d experienced throughout her childhood since her move to Colorado. The pair had grown up together. They were a few months apart after all. They’d grown close because of each other's respective trauma. They’d helped each other through their traumas. By simply talking to each other and making sure the other knew they’d eventually be okay at some point.
Addie and her friend Jackson picked her up at the airport. They’d taken her to a Hotel near Addie’s apartment before taking her to one of their favorite Cafes for dinner. It wasn’t much they were doing because of her flight coming in later in the day. She didn’t care. It was better than sitting alone in the Hotel eating take out before exploring the area. Reagan was probably going to roam around for a while anyway. It wasn’t like she’d have anything else to do after Jackson and Addie dropped her off at the Hotel. They had other things they had to do after their brief time with her that day.
Addie and Jackson were fine leaving her at the Cafe to finish her coffee and finding her way back to the Hotel. She had the address of the Hotel so she could find her way back after roaming around. They’d given her some suggestions on where to go that would leave her within walking distance of the Hotel. She’d planned on seeing all of them the next day. She went off the beaten path for the rest of the night. A hot shower and a movie after getting back to the Hotel was a welcome end to the night.
Addie and Jackson found her at one of the Cafes near the Hotel the next day. They sat there having lunch while discussing what they wanted to do the rest of the day. It ended up not being a long discussion. Addie and Jackson took her to several Dispensaries after roaming around the hotspots they’d frequented. She left each Dispensary with something. She bought a few bowls along with some Marijuana. She’d loved every minute of that day. She ended it by smoking some of her stash on the balcony.
She’d considered moving to Colorado as she spent the next few days roaming around. She didn’t mind getting lost when she roamed around. That was the point. It was during her time with people she met through Addie and Jackson that convinced her of moving there. She’d fallen in love with Denver. She’d fallen in love with the laid back atmosphere she had so often experienced. People that helped her find her way when she couldn’t find what she was looking for. Addie and Jackson threw her a party for Reagan on the last day of her two week trip. She reflected on everything during the party. There was no shortage of Marijuana. She’d tried Dabs for he first time as well.
She still had no idea how she’d managed to afford the trip. It hadn’t felt real. She’d made the decision to move to Denver in the next six months. She knew it’s where she belonged. Far away from the continually toxic environment she’d been living in. Her only plan was to save everything she could to move. There was no shortage of jobs in Denver that she’d apply for when she eventually moved there. She found people that loved her for who she is.
That is the end of Trip To Colorado. Thanks for reading.
