WalkingAway
She’d walked away from people that never once loved her. Away from a place that never once loved her. A place too ignorant and close minded to love people for who they are.
The confrontational argument with her relatives left her conflicted. It’d empowered her. It’d also left her wondering if she’d done the right thing. She’d known deep down that she’d done the right thing. Their actions had spoken for them. She’d begun doing the same. Not once had they genuinely loved her. Not once had they bothered to help her after her mother died. Ari had gone no contact with people who’d rather continue living in ignorance than love her. She’d let her actions speak for her far more than ever before. She knew they’d experience the karma they needed to eventually feel. Life has a way of letting people experience what they’ve done to others.
They’d always been unsupportive. Not once had they made any effort to see what she had going on in her life. Not once had they bothered to have any kind of relationship with her other than the superficial one to keep up appearances. She knew there’d come a time when people saw them for who they really are. She knew there’d be a time when people would ask her questions. Truthful answers would be her only response. She knew there’d come a time when people asked them questions they didn’t have the answers to. There were a few that had already known how they’d behaved toward her. They also knew what would eventually happen.
Six months passed before that happened. Her recent health issues led others to ask her relatives how she was doing. People who thought they’d been helping her in some way. People who had no idea her own relatives hadn’t even gone to the hospital to see her. People who were shocked when she told the truth. She’d faced backlash from her relatives when they confronted her. They’d wanted to know why she’d said what she had. They had nothing to say when she shamed them for not once helping her during her recovery. Or the fact they’d not once come to see her during her hospital stays. She’d told them everything they needed to hear. Things they didn’t want to hear. She’d gone no contact with them after that.
She’d been far happier than she’d ever been before. Despite her health issues. She had made the decision to move out of Florida. For new beginnings. For opportunities she’d never get while living in Florida. She’d been unable to find or maintain a job while in Florida. Nobody wanted someone like her. There was too big of a gap in her work experience. Her health issues didn’t help. People didn’t want someone with as many health issues as she’d recently had. She knew the decision she had to make would mean leaving Florida. A decision she was perfectly fine making. She’d moved to Colorado with a job opportunity to work as a Budtender for one of the many Dispensaries. She used her health issues to showcase why she used Marijuana. She’d become outspoken about her health issues. She’d let people know what strain was best for what health issue. It was something everyone at the Dispensary loved.
That is the end of WalkingAway. Thanks for reading.
